Chapter 17

Elsa's POV

Friday is planning day. Everyone is figuring out where they're going after the dance. Jamie & Jack are having a party so I'm going there & Merida & Rap are coming. Miranda & Shay want to come but their boys have different plans. Friday went by in a flash & then there came Saturday, time to have a ball.

Anna & I were woken up early. We brushed our teeth & washed our faces. Then we gather in my Mother's bathroom to do our makeup & hair. Mom does our makeup. For Anna, she gets pale pink blush, light lip gloss, & some eye liner & mascara. For me, I get sparkly blue eye shadow, mascara, & Mom even ties my hair up in a bun & sprinkles glitter on it to make my hair show an enhancement of natural shine. I then slip into my dress. I feel incredibly beautiful. I glance in the mirror & see a tall, platinum blondie, with a hot boyfriend, body, & great friends. My new life here is pretty great. Just then Mom comes up behind me & taps on my shoulder. I turn around with a warm smile.
"Honey I have one last surprise for you," Mom pulls two small boxes out of her pocket. She hands one to me & one to Anna. Inside mine is a fresh set of new contacts.
"Mom! I thought they weren't supposed to come in until the end of the month!" I cry. Mom nods.
"Well from a little money load from Eric, they decided to push our order out first," Mom winks. I giggle & hug my wonderful Mother. Then I urge Anna to open hers. She tears it open hungrily, & peeks inside to see two masquerade masks. They're beautiful. Both are black, but one has light blue rhinestones around the edge & the other has purple rhinestones. Anna hands one to me & we giggle as we take the sticks in our hands & hold them up to our eyes. We look in the mirror & "oooohhh" & "ahhhh" at ourselves. Then I pop my contacts in & head downstairs. Jamie pulls up in a sleek, black Lamborghini. I don't know why he goes to such an extent for me. I walk outside to take pictures with him, then grab my keys, lipgloss, mascara, & phone & put them into my little purse that came with the dress. Then I got in the car. Jamie whistled. I giggled & swatted him on the shoulder.
"So where are your glasses?" He asked. I sighed & explained the whole story as he pulled out of my neighborhood. Jamie laughed once I was done.
"What?" I asked.
"I am just so overwhelmed," he replies. I get a sinking feeling in my stomach.
"What?" I croak.
"I just can't get over that a guy like me could get a girl like you." Jamie blushes. I look at my shoes & feel such an uplifting feeling.
We reach the school. The dance will be held in the ballroom. Jamie opens my door & I get out, as couples file in through the double doors. Everyone looks so amazing. I turn to Jamie & he smirks, offering me an elbow. I wrap my arm in his & we head inside. Right when we reach the doors, people are there taking coats. I didn't bring a coat. It was still warm September. I put my purse though with Jamie's coat & grabbed my mask. To enter the dance, you go down a long stairway onto the dance floor. It's really a brilliant set-up; a moment for you to feel like Cinderella, as couples oohh & aahh. Jamie looks into my eyes behind the mask. I nod & we head down. I pull the mask down halfway down the stairs. Everyone gasps when they realize it is me. I look around & see everyone has stopped dancing & is watching us instead. This night is amazing. We reach the dance floor & people part like the Red Sea. I look to the right & see Jack at the DJ table. I poke Jamie.
"Your brother is the DJ." I smile.
"Yeah I know, it's lame." Jamie rolls his eyes. I frown. I thought it was pretty cool. But then again, I didn't really like Jack that much. But he wasn't going to ruin my night.
