Back in the maze, Wes, Audrey, and Emanuel escaped the demons, while the warriors guarding the maze fought them off. The trio stopped, when they reached a double path split, so they could figure out where to go.
Wes stopped near one of the hedges to catch his breath from running so much. "I think we lost them," Emanuel said. "Well, we're in the maze now," Wes explained. "How do you think we'll find the Detective?" "Easy," Audrey said. "I'm getting a vision right now, so I might tell from the vision where he, and Officer Frances are located in the maze."
Audrey closed her eyes, and used her foresight powers to see what will happen next. In her vision, Audrey saw the egg that Detective Trent was exploding in, and it exploded, revealing a green glowing one eyed shadowy figure, that was carrying a sniper rifle, and vanished, revealing that the place he's located is in the center of the maze. Audrey opened her eyes, after seeing the vision of the green eyed cyclops figure, who disappeared after finding out his location.
"So, where is he?" Wes asked. "He's located in the center of the maze," Audrey answered. "All we have to do, is follow the smell of cephalopod slime to get there." "Cephalopod slime, where did that come from?" Emanuel asked. "I can smell it in the maze," Audrey answered. "We just have to find the councilmen, with the smell, and find out where they are." "A bit of a problem for us to do," Wes explained. "In any second, this rain will flood the entire rain, along with the rest of Saint Paul that we just escaped."
"Yeah, speaking of today's weather forecast, how is your eye still on fire?" Emanuel asked. "A rain drop would of put that out, or when you first drown would have done the same thing. Is the fire in your eye immune to water, or something?" "Not even I know how that's possible, jungle boy," Wes answered. "I thought maybe you had the answer." "No clue," Emanuel said. "Audrey?" "Maybe it's because you're wearing that outfit," Audrey explained. "Huh," Wes said. "Think about it," Audrey explained. "The outfit you have on, must be keeping your eye from burning." "I highly doubt that's possible," Emanuel said. "Wes, when you were working with the Devil, where did you get that suit?" Audrey asked. "Somewhere in Saint Paul?"
"I dug up my parents grave, and found the first three soul cards that gave me the stuff I need," Wes answered. "You're point being?" "Let me see the first three cards," Audrey explained. Wes gave Audrey the first three soul cards he had, and revealed that the pictures on the back were blank empty. Audrey read the first card which explained the suit, and said, burns your eye, without it melting. "I knew it," Audrey said. "When you placed the suit on, a flame surrounded your eye, and now you can't be hurt by it." "That's neat, Audrey, but can we focus on the task at hand right now?" Emanuel asked. "Right," Audrey answered. "So, if with the smell of the slime, we should start going, this way." Audrey turned left, and the two followed while not getting lost.
