Thumping, sounds in my ears. Letting my eyes flutter open, the first thing I see is Tyler. His eyes full of worry."Hi." I mumble out, trying to sit up.
I hear feet moving around off to the side. Peaking up to see Nathan and Alastair both staring at me.
"Well this all went to shit in a hand basket." Nathan mumbles, running his hands down his face.
"Really." Tyler growls out. "Where is your parents?"
"I haven't seen or spoke with them since my ceremony." I shrug my shoulders.
Tyler looks over to Nathan, who just shakes his head having the same answer. "They have had to have known. It is to weird that they just vanish basically from the lives of both their children, after you both get mates and high ranks. Most parents would be parading the streets, but they just went silent. I still get the income reports from them, so they are still doing their positions within the pack."
"Who's to say they know anything though?" I ask.
Tyler and Nathan both are quiet. Guess the little time I was napping against my will, Tyler was thinking.
"Luna, you need rest. All of this has overwhelmed you once as is." Alastair walks over and sits on the other side of the couch. "I do apologize for being plain about it. There is never an easy way to tell people, especially if it about them."
"No, I am okay now. Just had troubles taking it in, is all." I mutter out.
All three men stiffen, just as someone knocks on the door. I get up and open it, since they have become statues. Layla is pulling a cart beside her. Moving over to let her in, the smell of food hits my nose.
"Figured you four would appreciate some dinner here today." She smiles passing out plates to everyone.
"Thank you, time must have gotten away from us." I give her a grateful smile, my stomach rumbles in agreement.
Tyler lets his laugh slip, "Well let's take a break and eat."
Tyler sits on the floor in front of me. Nathan sits in the chair, with Layla on his lap.
Dinner goes by in a silent matter, nothing but silverware tinking on the plates.
Can this get anymore vexatious? I roll my eyes, thankfully I am looking down at my plate. Although, it is true.
"Is Alpha Saul back at it again?" Layla asks, breaking the silence. "You guys have been up here all day?"
Tyler's head jerks up.
"Who is this Alpha? Sounds like he is causing problems, yes." Alastair asks.
"Slimball of an Alpha. He has not been found guilty to be the cause any problems, yet. It is believed he may be behind this whole ordeal we are in currently. Saul brought it to my attention, along with other Alpha's the rogues was up to something." Tyler says, taking a bit of food.
"More like the rambling of a mad man." I add in.
"The rogues was not really a problem anymore than usual. However; once Saul called Claire and I shortly after her ceremony everything started happening. Larger attacks by rogues, on multiple packs across the lands." Tyler finishes, standing up to put his plate back on the cart.
Tyler takes my plate to the cart. When did I finish my food? Everyone else puts their plates down on the cart.
"Well, I should get this back to the kitchen. Link me if you guys need me." Layla says. She gives Nathan a small kiss before pushing the cart back out and down the hall.
Nathan shuts the door, before standing next to the desk.
"This Alpha seemed to set everything in motion. Have any of the other packs heard from him since?" Alastair looks to Tyler.
"No, we all try to stay clear of Saul. Saul is one of the Alpha's that believes in the old ways and is cruel to his members, never embracing new ways. Although, he has never bothered to contact us yet either." Tyler moves over behind the desk looking through his papers.
"These are the notes from the phone call Claire and I took with him. Nathan has seen them already. With your oath to Claire, I trust you to read it. So far with you being here we have gotten more answers then we have in the last two weeks." Tyler hands over the paper to Alastair, who gives him a nod.
I get up from the couch, causing all three men to look at me.
"Where do you think your going?" Tyler asks, raising his eyebrow at me.
"To that chair there." I point to it.
I move to it swiftly before I can get any backlash. The way I had to sit on the couch and them at the desk was starting to make my back ache some.
Alastair reads through the notes. Tyler sits in his chair and looks on top of his desk to the map with marks all over it, in different colors. Where is his mind going?
"Is there a way that you can get the other Alpha's you speak about and was with you the other night to come over?" Alastair asks, causing me to jump some.
"Greg and Cole? Yes, I can get them to drive over once they have their Beta's in position to watch over their packs. Why?" Tyler looks up.
"We need all the Alpha's that are against this Alpha Saul to come together in an event of some kind. It could expose him." Alastair sets the notes back on the desk.
"What type of event could I have planned to pull that off?" Tyler asks. He seems to be into the idea at least.
"A formal dance." Nathan cuts in. "Think about it Tyler. There has not been one in several years for all the Alpha's. If you, our Alpha, was to host the formal dance for all Alpha's and their mates Saul would attend it. He is old fashion, so we have to think old fashion. That is one event that is not been held since the old Alpha from East stepped down."
"Alright. Let's do it. Bring the fight to him then, or at least get more answers. I will get Greg and Cole up to speed." Tyler nods. "Let's set it for a week from now, next Saturday."
