Layla looks across the table to me, raising her eyebrow

Layla looks across the table to me, raising her eyebrow. I shake my head slightly. Even though right now I would love to make a scene that's not possible. We have to keep a nice, soft exterior for the pack, because we are high rank.

Right now on the inside, I am fuming.

"So looks like it is just going to be us tonight, Claire. The men have some business keeping them." Layla plays her part perfectly, since we are at the table. Nathan having left just a bit ago, not even eating three bites of food.

Having lost my appetite, I help the others take things into the kitchen. Placing everything into the major dishwasher, as Fiona sprays the plates down.

We finish it up and Layla walks over looping her arm around mine. "What shall we do hunt our mates down? Or do a girls night and forget our mates?"

Tuff choice there. "Guess girls night, I guess." I barely mumble out.

I say we hunt them down. Answers please.

"Besides no point in searching for them. They obviously don't want us to know what is going. We can always get answers later." I try to reason with Layla and myself, although it is not really working at all.

We walk down the path to the stairs, but stop when we both see someone standing by the steps in the shadows.

"Luna. Beta female." John steps out of the shadows and bows his head to us.

"John." My voice is soft, knowing we are safe. "I thought you would be with Tyler and Nathan."

"Oh no, Luna, I am going to be watching over you and the Beta female this evening."

"Please John, just call me Layla. We are all rank wolves." Layla gives a threatening smile.

I am quick to pinch her arm, causing her to jump slightly. This girl is on the war path for any male at this point it would seem.

"Well, thank you. Is it really necessary though?" I ask.

"Yes, it is Tyler's orders." John looks uneasy.

"I am not going to ask why, since he probably also said not to tell me a thing." I raise my eyebrow. John quickly nods his head. "That is all I need to know. I will just take it up with him, next time I see my mate."

Layla looks over at me, probably catching some of the venom in voice. Not anyone's fault but Tyler's, so no point in taking it out on others.

"Please tell Melissa, she is more than welcome to join Layla and I in the Alpha's suite. We are just going to have a girls night. So if you must stay close pull a chair up to the door and sit outside. Since we are having girls night, no guys. Sorry." I say pulling Layla with me up the stairs.

Layla snickers and walks with me into the room. I go up to the television, pulling the drawer open and searching through them. Choosing a chick flick, I pop it into the player. Turning back around to see Layla has set out all the nail polish.

She is taking girls night seriously. No kidding, I put the movie in just to have noise so John can not hear us through the walls as we talked. Even though it is supposedly sound proof, I am not chancing it.

Someone knocks on the door. Layla goes over and opens it, letting Melissa walk in.

"Girls night sounds fun!" Melissa looks between Layla and me. "Although I have a feeling it is something more. As my mate is to quiet and yours is nowhere to be seen."

"You got that right. The guys are trying to keep us together and busy." Layla cuts right in.

"So, I am guessing you have no clue either." I look to Melissa.

"Not one. All John told me was that he was keeping guard for you two tonight and not sure when he was coming to bed. That was until he mindlinked me saying that you invited me for the girls night. Thank you for that." Melissa smiles at me.

I can already tell we are all three going to be great friends together. I have not had time to get to know Melissa much since she spends most of her time with the younger children in the pack.

"So I figure we can talk and do nails at the same time. Claire already got a movie going, which is loud enough no one can hear us. That way the men can't say a thing because at least nails are done to prove to them. Although, I think we need to plot against the men." Layla rambles, while she looks through the colors she sat out.

"Oh, I definitely want in!" Melissa sits down next to Layla.

Moving over to the bed I sit across from both of them. "We could go right at them with questions. Or silent treatment?"

"Silent treatment would drive them crazy." Melissa snickers.

"I can agree there. Could we actually do it though?" Layla asks, shaking up a nail polish. Holding her hand out for me.

Can I choose? Because red is a much better option then that pink.

"I think I can be quiet." I chime in, ignoring the inner witch.

"I know I can with John. We barely talk anyways." Melissa smiles, while grabbing a color out of the lot.

"Great. So, now the whole thing is finding out what they are doing." Layla says, focusing on my nails.

"I seen the lights are off in the office. I looked at the floor, by the door. They are not in there." I snip out.

The rest of the night seems to drag on. The girls and I talk nonstop. It feels right having Layla and Melissa both in my life as friends. Something I never had before.

We put in movie the third movie, neither Tyler or Nathan has came back. John is still sitting in the chair outside the door. Melissa is out like a light and Layla does not seem far behind her.

I really hope I can do this silent treatment. Part of me wants answers so badly, but the other part is highly mad at these men in our life. How is it keeping us safe by being out of the loop? So much for telling each other everything when it comes to the pack and events going on around us.

A/N-----

Hey Hey Guys!!

So are we still mad at Tyler? Claire sure is.

Who liked meeting Melissa? Poor John though getting the end of their anger.
