As I shut the front door behind me, Nathan waves for me to hop in. Running over to the car, I get in the passenger seat. Nathan just smiles at me and puts the car into reverse.
"Well, well, well, my baby sister finally decided to go tonight." He says full of sarcasm.
"Crap. I forgot to tell mom and dad. Hold that thought." I quickly grab my phone texting my parents that Nathan has picked me up from the house to take me to the mall. Mom replies quickly saying she is so proud I made a decision about tonight. I put my phone in the console of the car. "Do you think that I will really get a place in the pack? Why didn't you tell me how important tonight is to new members?" I glare at Nathan, making sure that there is just a hint of duh behind my words.
"Claire, it was not my place to tell you. Besides you never listen to me to even though I am your big brother. So, onto the mall. Which store are we going into first? " Nathan laughs at me, as I have not stopped glaring at him.
"I am going to go into a clothes store. You; however, can go into where ever you want." I smile and laugh at him when he gives me sideways glance.
I know Nathan is not going to leave me no matter how many times I tell him that looking at clothes is not dangerous, he just laughs telling me he knows. The real reason Nathan doesn't leave is because our mall isn't just for the pack there are humans here as well. Nathan has a hard time trusting humans, especially if one was to find out what we are, they would hunt us like they had done centuries ago. We have finally learned to live among them around a hundred years ago, but the human race today thinks we are all extinct. Where do you think their myths come from? They hide from the truth or choose to forget.
According to history we once all lived in peace, but one night a rogue killed a family in the village and it started total war between the species. The ones that survived, hid in the depth of the woods, eventually gaining in numbers again. So, we made our own communities all over the entire world. Werewolves just tend to keep to our own kind, so over the years we have never been caught, but we are very cautious, just to not to have another war with the humans. Sadly, though war still happens, but it is not with humans, it is only between the packs wanting more territory or strength.
Those thoughts end when the car stops and Nathan puts the car in park, he gets out waiting for me to get out. So, I get out and start walking to make my way to Nordstrom. They typically have the best jeans; I was needing a new pair anyways, all the ones I have have small rips in them. The walking into the mall is very quiet for a Friday, there are not very many people here today. Nathan follows behind not really all that close but to where he can still see me. Turning around slightly, I motion for Nathan to come up to me and wait as he walks up.
"Nathan you can seriously go to a store that has your sport stuff. I am just going to look through clothes." I say to him when he is in range to hear me whisper quietly. Nathan doesn't say a word he just shakes his head and goes over to the men's section of the clothes and starts looking through the shirts on the racks.
