While Sirius seemed disappointed by my decision to live with Lyall after school, he accepted it without question.

My dad seemed indifferent to the idea, as long as I was happy he didn't really seem to care.

When I got to my grandfather's house he wasn't home, which didn't surprise me as he works a lot.

For the first few days I'd been staying at 12 Grimmauld Place, as I didn't want to spring something like this on my grandfather at the last possible moment.

I moved into my grandfather's guest room about a week after school ended.

The house brought back a lot of memories of my childhood.

While I hadn't grown up there, I'd spent hours playing in the back garden during the days leading up to full moons.

Bringing me to my grandfather's house a week before the full moon had been a safety precaution on my dad's part, one which I was thankful for. Hearing those screams as a young child would've traumatized me.

When my grandfather got home he seemed happy to see me, though he was obviously tired.

He sat down on a recliner in the living room almost immediately, leaning his head back and closing his eyes before saying anything.

"What exactly is it you plan on doing Y/N? While I love you more than you'll ever know, you can't stay here permanently, this is meant as a temporary arrangement."

"I know, I'd like to get a job at the Ministry but I don't know what I'm qualified to do or what I'd be good at. I got O's in Care for Magical Creatures, as well as Charms, Potions, and Ghoul Studies. I got an E in Alchemy too, but I don't know what any of that can do to help me find a job at the Ministry."

While I hadn't really been paying attention to his reaction, my grandfather seemed intrigued by the fact I'd gotten O's in Care for Magical Creatures and Ghoul Studies.

"What about Defense Against the Dark Arts? How'd that go for you?"

"E... Though some of the students said dad was just playing favorites. The lowest grade I got was A in Transfiguration."
