Over the course of the week I still hadn't figured out how to tell Percy about Charlie and I, and although we'd gone on another date he wasn't pushing the subject.
He had however started telling people I was his girlfriend, which made my stomach do a little backflip every time I heard him say it.
On the following Friday I'd run out of possible ideas as to how to tell him and the only person I could think of to ask for advice was Sirius.
He'd been gone for so much of my childhood it seemed like he was disconnected from any sort of fatherly role whatsoever and I very well couldn't ask my dad....
After work I apparated to Grimmauld Place in hopes of getting any sort of advice as to how to put this to Percy.
When I walked into the sitting room Sirius looked up at me and smiled.
"Look who it is, I'm afraid your 'dad's' not here though." He seems to hate that I call Remus 'Dad', though I can't really say I blame him.
"That's probably for the best, I need advice on something" I replied
"Well this just got interesting.... Ask away I guess."
"I need help with that boy I went on a date with last weekend"
"Did he do something? Do I need to go back to Azkaban?"
"Why do you always jump to the worst case scenario? NO! He didn't do anything wrong."
"Go on then" he sat back on the couch, putting his arms behind his head
"Well last weekend things escalated in the relationship and I brought him back here..." I stopped mid sentence due to the look that was now plastered on Sirius's face, he looked slightly disgusted.
"Continue" he said, shuddering slightly
"Ummmm when Walburga's portrait was yelling things about blood traitors and being like fathers, she was yelling at me, not you."
"Apparently her statement was accurate either way"
"Percy now wants a list of people I've been with and I don't know what to tell him."
"I'd start by giving him the names, it sounds like a reasonable request."
"It does. The problem I'm having is that the first name on that list would be his older brother Charlie...."
While Sirius didn't say anything, his eyes had gone wide for a second but he was now waiting for me to continue.
He was trying his hardest not to be judgmental, which I appreciated.
"It happened a few years ago, Charlie had just turned 20, I was 16, and he was getting ready to go back to Romania. It only ever happened the once. I had a crush on him for years, but after that night it was blatantly obvious there was nothing between us and that there never would be. Any feelings that I had for Charlie, if they were even real to begin with, were gone."
"Your feelings for this boy, Charlie? Were probably real at the time, they just weren't what you thought they were. As for your current situation with this Percy kid, I'd tell him what you just told me. That it happened once and there's nothing between you and his brother."
"Ok, do I need to write an actual list or can I just tell him?"
"Merlin's Beard how many people are there?!?"
"I don't know how high your number would've been by 18, but my number would currently be 4 if we include Percy." I answered, quirking an eyebrow at the vague accusation
