After the teacher introduced herself she says we need to say something about ourselves. This is what I said: "I am Jennifer, fourteen years old. I love solving Rubik's cubes and reading Harry Potter." I looked around and everyone was looking at me like I was another species than they are. But I am used to that.
The girl behind me introduces herself as Yas, but it is Yaslynn. The boy behind me says his name was Sam, but it was Samuel. I think late comers like to shorten their names.
I don't remember all of the names of my classmates. This one's I do remember: Felix, the boy in the back of the classroom, said he likes to watch the Harry Potter movies. Dylan, the boy next to Felix, laughed about Felix saying he likes to watch the Harry Potter movies. Charlie, the boy in the middle of the class, when he started to talk all the girls started to giggle for some reason. Olivia, the girl next to Charlie, who didn't stop holding his hand and who had so much makeup on her face that she kinda looked like Barbie herself. It was not only because of her makeup, but also her long blond hair, her hot-looking face (probably because of the makeup), and the way she talked. I wasn't sure I liked her. I also remember the names Shirley and Lyna. They are the perfect example of crazy friends.
After the introduction, the teacher says we can do some talking with each other. I am bad at talking. Not as bad as Farah, but I am too awkward to talk normally. Luckily Alex starts talking to me. "I went to Brasilia this holiday!" he says. "Where did you go?" he asks. "I just stayed home," I answer. "Oh, that's sad. Did you do something fun?" Alex asks. "I learned how to order a hamburger in Spanish," I say. Yas and Sam start to laugh. Alex shushes them. Alex asks: "Why'd you want to learn that?" "For when I am in Spain. I can order a hamburger, you just stay hungry." "That's true, I guess I'm not going to Spain then," Alex says laughing. "To what country are you going then?" I ask. Alex is silent. "Oof, roasted by a girl," Sam states. Alex turns red.
Alex is rescued by the bell. Yas comes to me and asks for my phone number. I give it. She smiles and says: "Don't pay too much attention to the boys, they usually are rude in the beginning." "Thanks," I say. I walk out of the classroom. I am looking for Nova, Farah, David, and June. I cannot find them in the hallway. When I am at my locker I see them. Or at least Nova, June, and Farah
'Hey', I say. Nova and June are busy talking to some girls I have never seen before. They look cool, much cooler than me. Farah smiles at me. 'How is your class?', I ask. Farah answers: 'it's fine, June and Nova already made so many friends!' 'Oh', I state. I wish my friends all the best, but I kinda hoped that they wouldn't make more friends. I want to stay their bestie. 'Where is David?', I ask. 'He is with some guys. I think he likes one of them.', Farah says. 'Good for him, I say happily. June looks at me and smiles. 'Jennifer!', she says, almost screaming. 'How was your day?' 'It could have been better, I say. 'How come?' 'I am in a class with giggling girls, boys who put way too much gel in their hair and late-comers.', I state. June laughs. I try to smile and pretend like it's a joke. But it's not, my life sucks. The only one who's nice to me is Yas. Alex and Sam aren't the worst, but I can't be friends with late-comers, right?!
When I'm in bed at night I think about my new class. I need to make new friends, I think. I can't stay lonely. Tomorrow I need to go to school and make some friends. With that thought, I fall asleep.
Hey, good to see you again!
