Nerd

Chapter 20

I'm sitting in the kitchen with a cup of tea in front of me. No cookies this time. That means that something's wrong. My Mum looks straight at me. Well, crap.

"Aren't you gonna tell me where you've been?" she asks. I look at the tea, I don't want to see her face right now. "Jennifer, where have you been when you weren't at school?" she asks again.

"It won't happen again," I say. "That's not what I asked," my Mum replies. "Where have you been?" Her voice sounds angry. "Yas took me to a place and we lost our eye on the time so we were too late at school," I say.

"I'm sorry," I add. My Mum frowns. "I think Yas is not a good friend," she says. "No, she is, it was my fault," I defend. "Don't let it happen again, okay?" my Mum says. I nod. "If it happens again, there will be consequences," she asks.

~Time Skip~

I sit at the table with Charlie's friends. Yas and Alex joined us, they are great friends. I don't know what would happen if they weren't around. I look at Davey. I don't want to know what would happen.

Sam runs toward us. "So, tell us," Yas laughs. Sam smiles and blushes. "I know his name," he says. "Wait, is this about your crush?" I ask. Sam nods. "Tell us his name!" Yas shouts.

"David."

"Wait, what?!" I state. "You know him?" Sam asks. I nod. "Yeah, he used to be my friend," I respond. "Do you know if he's gay too?" Sam asks immediately. I laugh. "He is," I state. "Yes! Oh My Gosh, thank God!" Sam yells.

Yas looks at me. "Used to be your friend? What happened?" she asks. "Well, he was friends with Nova, June, and Farah. But now I'm no longer friends with them and I think he isn't anymore either," I say.

"Is he like them? Do I need to slap him?" Yas says. "No, he's fine," I laugh. "I think you'd be great together," I say to Sam and he smiles. "Did you ask for his phone number?" I ask. "No, I was too scared to ask more than just his name," Sam says.

"I'll give you his number," I say and I grab my phone. "That's a bit stalkery but sure," Yas laughs.

Felix walks toward me. "We have a Harry-Potter-Movie-Night today right?" he asks. "Yeah, I'd like that," I reply. "See you at seven!"

"Harry-Potter-Movie-Night?! Jenn, for real?" Yas repeats. "Yeah, it's fun," I say. "You have a freaking boyfriend, why are you gonna do something nerdy as a Harry-Potter-Movie-Night?" she asks.

"Because it's fun," I state and I chuckle. "Sure, if you wanna be the Nerd," Yas says. "Or maybe Jenn has a crush on Felix," Alex teases. "Dude, I have a boyfriend," I say.

"So what? You can still have a crush, right?" Alex continues. "Ugh, you're hopeless," I chuckle. Charlie turns to me. "You have a crush?" he asks. "No, no, it was just Alex teasing me," I reply.

"Good, cuz I won't let you go, you're mine," he says. I smile. "Yeah, I know," I say. Yas rolls her eyes. "Can you leave the juicy words 'til you're alone?" she asks. I giggle.

~Time Skip~

I sit next to Felix on his couch. We watched the third part of Harry Potter, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. "You know, this is my favorite Harry Potter movie," I say and I look at Felix.

His hair is all messy because he cried. Yes. He cried. This is only part three, I can't wait to watch part four. We'll probably cry his room full of tears.

"Really?" he asks and I nod. "I can understand that, I love this movie too, but I prefer part four," he says. "Is it also your favorite book?" he asks. "Nah, The Goblet of Fire is my favorite book," I smile.

"Hey, Jenn?" Felix asks. "Yeah?" "I heard something happened between Charlie and you," he starts. "And since I'm your friend, I think I can ask what happened," he finishes.

"Well, he is my boyfriend," I say. "No details?" he asks indignantly. I shake my head. "Not today," I say. "Okay, when are you going to tell me?" he asks. "Be patient," I state and we both start laughing.

"No, there's not that much to tell," I say. "I highly doubt that," Felix says and we start to laugh again.

"I really enjoy these movie nights, can we make this a weekly thing?" he asks. "We're already doing this for a few weeks in a row, so sure, why not?!" I state. "I enjoy them too," I say.

"It's like you're my only normal friend," I say. Felix looks at me and smiles. "Great, you think I'm normal," he says sarcastically. "No, I didn't mean it like that," I say. "I know," Felix says.

"It's just, I can be myself around you without it being awkward or something like that," I say. "You can't be yourself around your other friends?" Felix asks. "Not completely, they always expect me to be cool and stuff and that I like the things they like," I reply.

"I'm glad I can be your normal friend," Felix laughs. I push him playfully and grab some more popcorn.

~Time Skip~

I walk down the street with Charlie. We both have a hotdog in one hand and we're holding each other's hand with the other.

"I thought Nerds cared about the environment and shit and they don't eat meat," Charlie says. "Not this Nerd," I reply laughing. "I would kill to eat hotdogs."

We eat our hotdogs in a comfortable silence. "You're mine, right?" Charlie says suddenly. I frown. "Yeah, I guess, why?" I ask. "No, nothing, just making sure-," Charlie says. That sounded creepy. Also very cute. But also really creepy.

After a few minutes in silence, which was not as comfortable as I was anymore, Charlie holds me and kisses me in the middle of the street. Some people walk around us and give us funny looks.

I even heard someone saying "Get a room". I giggle and smile into our kiss. Charlie smirks. We walk further as if nothing happened but the smile stays on my face. Charlie walks me home and I go inside.

"Had a good day?" my Mum asks when she sees me smiling. "Yeah," I say and I quickly run upstairs. I fold my hands together. I don't know how to pray, I never did it. But I'm gonna thank God for this.

"Uh- Hello God," I start. "Thank you for everything." Damn, why is this so awkward?! "Uhh- Amen?"

Hello you. So here's the thing; there are only 10 chapters left and I still have a lot planned.

The only thing is that everything with a Time Skip the time skips a lot. So, pretend like Charlie and Jenn are already together for a few weeks or even a month maybe?

Cuz I don't have enough time to write about all of the things that happen in those weeks. And I don't want to write more than 30 chapters cuzz I'm lazyy. There will be an epilogue, though, probably. :D
