The bell rings. I'm already in the classroom of course. Barbie and her boyfriend walk in and take the seats behind me. I decided to not sit in the first row. I took the second row. I know it sounds a little sad, but it is a process, every day a row further.
I should talk to them. They might be stupid friends, but stupid friends are better than no friends, right?! 'Hey, ready for today?', I ask. 'Good morning', Charlie says a little sarcastically. 'I'm so ready for today that I don't even know with which lesson we start', he continues. Olivia laughs. I thought it would be smart to not quote the Good-Morning-Gandalf-Quote from the Lord of the Rings because if I did, they would probably hate me now. But I promise I'll use it once.
'We start with economics', I say. It is still a nerdish thing to say, but it was the first thing that came to mind after the Gandalf-Quote. 'Are you good at this, I mean economics?', Charlie asks me. 'Yeah, kinda', I respond. I am an A for every subject, so I am good, but I still want it to be an A+. 'Good, please help me with my homework in a little while', Charlie says. 'I'll help you', Olivia says. 'You ended with a C last year', Charlie reminds her. 'True, but this year I'll stand a B', Olivia says. 'Plus', she adds and Charlie laughs. 'Sure, if you have a B+ at the end of this year, I'll give you a chocolate bar', he says between laughs. 'Deal', Olivia says confidently.
The second bell rings and everyone is in the classroom except three people, Yas, Alex, and Sam. I expected that. Everyone did. The teacher starts his lesson and after three minutes the late-comers walk in. 'Where did you come from?', the teacher asks. 'Home', Alex says and he sits in the row for me. Yas comes and sits next to me. 'Hi', I say. 'Hi', she answers and smiles. Sam sits next to Alex. 'Really funny', the teacher says, not meaning it. 'The next time you're too late, you need to stay longer after the lesson.'
I chuckle. That'll teach them. I hope so.
The teacher explained some stuff, I already read this in my book, and after that, we needed to make a few assignments. Lots of people in my class start to talk. I start with the assignments. After a few minutes, I'm at exercise four while the rest is still at one. 'Psst, can you help me?', Charlie whispers. 'Sure', I say. 'With which exercise?' 'All of them', Charlie says. 'Sure', I say. The one and the only reason I said this was because I need to make new friends. Normally I wouldn't let anyone copy my work.
I show the answers to Charlie and explain them to him. 'You don't need to explain, I'll just copy them', Charlie says after a while. I roll my eyes. Charlie laughs about it. Yas is looking over my shoulder and also copies my work. When they copied my work Alex and Sam copy it from Yas. I pretend like this is not happening. But does it really matter? I hope not.
When the teacher tries to get the attention again everyone sits and acts as they made it on their own. 'Let's check your answers', the teacher says. 'Sam, what do you have for the first assignment?' 'You need to calculate the final amount by counting the first and the last amount', he says confidently. That's my answer, exactly that.
The teacher asks some other students for their answers for the next assignments, all of the answers are copied from my work. They didn't even write it in their own words. 'Lesson is over', the teacher says. 'Jennifer, can you stay a little longer?'
Howdy, my lovely readers,
Here is the beautiful Gandalf-Quote for those who can't wait for the next time someone says 'Good morning':
Bilbo: Good morning!
Gandalf: What do you mean? Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good at this particular morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?
Bilbo *confused*: All of them at once I suppose.
This is by far my favorite quote of all times
Question of the day: What is your favorite quote?
I hope you liked this chapter!
Love Anna <3
