"Everyone open their books to page 67," the teacher called out. You had been zoning in and out of the lesson. Eyes drifting to sleep until your partner next to you tapped your arm,

"Wake up," he whispered and when he saw you weren't cooperative, he sighed. Reaching over you to grab your book, opening it on the page and set it in front of you.

"Girl wake up," he tapped you again and you visibly shook awake. Rubbing your eye sockets as you squinted at him. "Huh?"

"We gotta read the passage," he pointed at the page and you suddenly remembered you were in school. "Oh. Yeah thank you." You smiled as you brought the book towards you, placing an elbow on the desk as you started to read the passage.

You were slipping in and out of consciousness while reading. Not sure why you were so tired all of a sudden. You were fine a moment ago. The boy next to you noticed your head was dropping down eventually but couldn't see if you were still sleeping as your arm was covering your face.

He tapped your shoulder, waking you up again. "Do you get sleep at home? Everything good?" He asked concerned and you nodded. "Yeah, I get plenty of sleep. It's just this class is boring." You sighed, rubbing your eyes once more.

The boy laughed, "yeah I get you." Turning to face his book again. After some more silent reading, the teacher asked for someone to collect all the books and to pack up.

The boy next to you gathered his things, and stood up. You stayed seated, tapping your pen on the desk. "You know we can go right?"

You looked up at him, "yeah I know. Just have nowhere to go so."

He looked around, seeing everyone walk out by now. "Well you can't stay here alone. There's another class coming soon."

You looked outside and saw the other class lining up to enter. "Oh yeah. Thanks for reminding me."

He nodded and started to make his way out, whilst you stayed behind to pack up. Walking out of the classroom, you noticed he stayed behind waiting for you.

"You waited?"

He nodded, "you didn't have anywhere to go, just wanted to make sure you weren't lonely."

"That's awfully sweet.... are you expecting anything in return for this or?" You questioned,

"No! I would never. I'm just a good guy I guess, don't like seeing people by themselves." He smiled.

"Oh— well thanks for looking out for me. But it's okay! I'll just walk around. You go have fun though."

He nodded and sent you a wave before heading off in another direction. You sighed, bringing out your phone to look at the time. It was currently 11AM and your next class started at 2PM. You could always go home but if you did, you'd most likely fall asleep and miss your next class.

Orrrr you could go study? Make your life easier to catch up .....

You scoffed out loud, obviously you're not gonna do that. You walked down the hallway passing the cafeteria where it was slightly empty but not too packed as most people were still in class.

Waiting in the line, scrolling through your dried up instagram feed as you waited to reach the front. The options to eat were pretty bad, literally just some cookies and shit. Cause it was still early in the morning.

You grabbed a cookie and went to pay for it, handing the lady your cash but she shook her head. "Where's your school card?"

"School card?" You asked confused and she sighed. "Yes. The thing all the students have to pay for their food?!"
