Duncan POV
The door swung open and light filtered through and fell on my face. I had been training myself to sleep lightly — after all that had happened to me and Izzy, you could never be ready.
My protective instincts took over and I exclaimed "WHAT!", sitting bolt upright in bed. KLAUS BAUDELAIRE WAS KISSING MY SISTER — AND SHE WAS KISSING HIM BACK!
Both of them sprung apart immediately, blushing beet red. "What are you two doing?" I hissed. "It's the middle of the night!"
"Duncan- I'm sorry- I can explain- I know, I should've asked- um- we were-" Klaus began to say looking very flustered, but Izzy cut him off.
"Duncan, it's okay! We were just kissing, nothing else happened!" but her face was still pink. Klaus nodded, a little too vigorously. I narrowed my eyes at them both and got out of bed. I ushered them both inside, and they sat on Izzy's bed. I sat opposite them on my own.
"Why don't you both tell me what really happened, hm?" I said, taking out my commonplace notebook from under my pillow with a pen.
"This isn't an interview, Duncan." Izzy said, annoyed. "Put the book away!"
"Alright, alright, fine!" I looked at them both sternly, and then burst out laughing. I couldn't hold it back anymore. Klaus and Izzy shared a confused look and then turned back to me. "Oh my god, I've been kidding with you guys all along! It's about time you're together! Do you know how long the rest of us have been waiting for this? It's a Wednesday now, isn't it? I owe Violet $10."
