[Flash back]
As Ria runs inside with donuts and coffee, the man from the other car gets out, looks down at the woman, "if it wasn't for you I would've seen the car." The woman replies, "My fault-blame yourself You were driving." The man walks to the flipped car and then unbuckles Katie's seat belt and takes her out of the car. He looks to his son and demands that he help him. The boy states, "Wait, what, dad, what are you doing?" "Son, we just hit someone; they'll make us pay," the man said. The boy asserts, as he starts to panic inside, "We're rich and famous though." Man replies, "That's the problem, son; these poor people are going to look us up, see our money, and ask for more than what they need; we're going to be broke, so help me." The boy then helps carry Katie out of the car and states, "What are we going to do with her?" "We're in America; we're in Michigan." The man quickly thinks out loud, "We have doctors in Canada."

"But wouldn't they know?" "We're not even her family," the boy asserts before he palms himself while panicking inside. The woman then comforts the boy and rubs his back, saying, "We'll have to practice; we can pay for hacking and more; we can be her family and still live a rich life." The man kisses the woman's forehead and replies, "Perfect idea, sweetheart." "What if she's not alive?" the boy asks, looking down at the girl they're carrying. The man says with a cruel smile, "We dump the body," as they carry Katie a mile down the hill into the woods somewhere nearby and hide behind a tree.

[At school]
Cody has been sitting outside the cold school, waiting for Katie, for about two hours now. He thinks to call her, but when he picks up the phone and dials her number, it immediately goes to voicemail. He leaves her a voice message: "Hey Katie, this is Cody, uh, I think you forgot to get me."

Cody's anxiety starts to kick in; he's getting really stressed out because if Mily finds out, she's going to be so upset, and he can't handle everyone being disappointed again. he "Hey, Katie, I know you're angry; you should be angry." I messed up again, but I promise I won't do it again. "Just don't tell mom and dad," he says on the phone. as he bites down on his lip.

Cody stands up as he starts pacing back and forth. He considers calling Mily; at least she wasn't going to be as bad as calling his dad, but he doesn't want to be yelled at again, so he calls Katie again and gets voicemail. As he says this, his eyes well up with tears. "Katie, I'm sorry; I get it. I always drag you down with me-to school last year, home last year-and I always seem to bring you with me. And I know there's no reason for you to protect me from mom and dad, but come on, I need you. " "I promise it was self-defense," he says, fiddling with his hands and wishing he could smoke; it'll calm his anxiety.

[outside of the donut shop]
A new reporter yells to RIA while being blocked by a few police officers, "Hey! What happened?" Ria tells the police officer blocking the reporter to let them through, and the news reporter says, "What happened?" Ria replies, "My friend Katie Colton is missing; a car hit her, and I went inside to get help; then she was gone, and so was the driver." Lots of news reporters start yelling at her, "Hey! Hey!" The news reporter in front of her states, "Why would someone hit someone and take them?" Also, any thoughts about Victech's new technology car? "Maybe if she was driving one of your mother's cars, this wouldn't have happened." Ria felt so angry that she shouted in her face, "Really, my friend got hit, and you're promoting my mom's cars." "You're a sick woman, don't you know that?" Before the argument can get any further, the police officer behind them grabs Ria's arm and pulls her away from the reporter.
