Katie narrates: "The thing about first and second is that you always want to come in first."

Arthur aggressively grabs the gun and shoots Mily as he says, "I'm sorry I'm doing this for Katie." Mily's eyes slowly close as she chokes on her words, "Arthur." Arthur rubs her head and replies, "You are getting in the way, sweetheart. I hope you understand." Mily dies in his hands.

Katie narrates: but this isn't a competition

Arthur snaps back into reality, and Mily is still sitting in the chair. "Well, Arthur, I'm ready. What the hell is a bloody gun doing in your jacket?" Arthur replies.
"Okay, you caught me. I went haunting to blow off some steam," Mily states, "and came back with no meat." Arthur looks at her, giving her a reassuring look. "Trust me," she asserts. "If you want me to trust you, then tell me the goddamn truth, Arthur." Arthur breathes in, realizing he can't lie to her, so he might as well tell her the truth. He stands closer to her with a shine of guilt in his eyes. "I killed a detective to save our daughter." Mily laughs and says, "Arthur, tell me this is some sort of joke."
Arthur stands there drowning in guilt, then he swallows it. Mily's heart breaks as she realizes he isn't lying. She sits down and says, "Oh my god, Arthur, he was the only hope to find our daughter."
Arthur replies, "They're going to give her over after I get rid of all the evidence, and we can have our daughter back quickly."

He touches Mily's shoulder and adds, "We can be together." Mily throws his hands off her and yells, "Move your hand, Arthur!" She asserts in sadness, "Cody and I are going to my mom's house for the weekend." He walks behind her and tries to touch her hand. "Mily, come on." She cries out, "You killed someone." Arthur states, "Okay, then I'll leave, but don't talk Cody away from the only life he's had." She shakes her head in agreement. As she muffles, "Okay, hurry and start packing, and in the morning I want you gone before Cody wakes."

the next day

[in Canada's house]
Katie runs downstairs, Vanessa says, "Good morning, you're up bright and early." Katie excitedly grabs onto the kitchen counter. "When do I go to the doctor?" she asked. Vanessa replied dreadfully, "Tomorrow." Katie sits down in front of Vanessa and slightly levels her head to meet hers. "What time?" she fakes a smile and says, "Tomorrow, around 1." Katie sees Johnny's jacket isn't hanging up anymore, and he isn't down for breakfast. "Where's Cody?" she asserted, before getting off the chair. Vanessa annoyedly palms herself behind Katies' back. At times like this, she really missed her normal life; one child was definitely enough for her. "At school today is Monday." "oh and where's dad?" Vanessa hears Katie say. She replies, "At work, but that's great; we can have a girl day." She wraps her arms around Katie's shoulder, eager to get her to say yes, so she has an excuse to not cancel her nail appointment. Katie excitedly smiles, "Can it require going out? Please, I want to eat at the restaurant Cody took me too."

Vanessa's mind quickly changed as she knew Dan would be upset if she took Katie anywhere, so she states, "I don't know, we got some results from Kyle and it says you're not safe to be out, and until we get you to the hospital we're not sure if you can handle the amount of sunlight or anything. May I remind you that you're dealing with a head injury?" Katie sighs, "Yeah," walks to the living room, not far from the kitchen, and sits on the couch. Vanessa sits by her and tries to comfort her by putting her hands on her shoulder. "That's okay, Katie." Katie pushes her hand away and replies, "It's not okay, I don't remember anything!" Vanessa shouts, "That's enough, Katie. The next time you keep acting this way, I'm going to send you to an asylum to get the help you need. I'm trying to compromise with you here, but it's driving me and Dan crazy." Katie looks down and mumbles, "I'm sorry." She thinks about the fact she said Dan. Who is Dan? She thinks to herself, but she pushes her thoughts away.

[in the investigation room]
Carlos confidentially says, "So here for you to take me up on that date." The fbi agent replies with her arms crossed, looking him into his eyes, "Date in jail, should we also share a cell?" Carlos smirks, "I mean.. whatever you like." She quickly looks away, and she states, "Mr. delevez, we were searching your office when your mom called and said Emilia misses you." Carlos leans back in the chair; there are only so many ways to get comfortable in a metal chair. He asserts, "tell here to tell Emilia papá volverá pronto, I love her and stay safe." The fbi looks confused; at his middle words, she didn't know if he was admitting to murder or to love. But she had to do her job. "What did you say in the middle of the sentence?" she said.

Carlos smiles knowing he wasn't gonna tell her unless, he got information, he replies looking her into her eyes again, "first tell me your name' she hated when he looked at her with those brown eyes, so she looked away and muffles, "isabella but my friends call me Izzy' Carlos smiles at her, and states, "am I a friend?" She couldn't help but smile a little, he was kind of hot, Carlos use it finger to point to his ear, to signal her that he wanted to tell her but not out loud, she leans closer and he whispers, "I told her daddy will be back soon I love her and stay safe" somehow her heartbeat started to race, it's like being this close to him, felt like a magnetic force telling her to kiss him, officer Wilson walked in, making her move as quickly as possible from Carlos, the officer concernly asks, "is there something going on here" she answers, delivered a message from his family to him" as she walks out, and the officer looks at Carlos smirks, and says, "okay.."

[in Ria's car]
ria is driving for the past 6 hours, Cody complains, "how far is the hotel we've been driving for hours " ria agitatedly states, "cause you made me stop for food 12 times and plus we're going from Wisconsin to Alaska" Cody replies, "hey! I got hungry" she asserts, as she switches lanes, "it's only been only 6 hours and we're not halfway there what would've been originally been 12 hours if we didn't stop so much thanks to you" Cody says,."before you yell at me you should hear what's on the radio" she slightly replies, "Cody! I swear" when she gets cut off with music, he plays Michael Jackson blame it on the boogie, he sings the words, "don't blame it on the sunshine don't blame it on the moonlight don't blame it on the good times" he dances a little while leaning on ria, "blame it on the boogie"
She smiles as she yells, "Cody!" He continues singing, "I just can't, I just can't control my feet."
Ria screams, "I hate you," while laughing.

[at school in Canada]
Johnny walks into class, everyone immediately stares at him, the teacher says, "This is Cody Wilburs, he's new," to get the attention off him, he doesn't introduce himself, he immediately sits down, he was relieved to see the girl from his walk, he says, "hey?" Dana replies, "Can I borrow a pencil?"
He pulls out this luxury pencil case. "Number 2 or number 1?" she confusingly leans her head down. "Um," he states, "I'm kidding." With a small laugh, she nervously laughs. "Oh, I was so confused," she asserts. A girl who appears to be dressed like one of those early 2000s goth chicks, with her black sweater underneath her plain white shirt, a black skirt with tights, zipped low boots on, a long necklace, and too many rings to count. Was staring at him, he whispers to Dana, "What's her problem?" Dana Snickers knew everyone was a little intimidated by Haylee's stare, but she was a nice person. She whispers back to Johnny, "She's my best friend; she's the school newspaper photographer and writer."

Johnny jokingly says, "Is she going to write a paper about me, because I don't mind?" Dana replies, crossing her leg slowly over the other and swinging her foot lightly under the desk, sitting intriguingly, "No, but if she were too, what would it be named?" Johnny leans back in the school chair,
"Good question, maybe "live," he smiled, as Dana laughs and asserts, "hot and mysterious, wow, what's next? You're a murderer." Those words did something to him; the look of guilt filled his face. Since he has a hostage in his house, he couldn't help but think about everything that made him
Turns away from her and writes, Dana did know what she could do to make him not laugh; maybe the joke was too cheesy or blunt; she didn't know which one, but she turns away as well and writes in her notebook.

[at Colton's house]
Mily wakes up; her vision was still blurred as she rubbed her eyes and said, "How long did I sleep?" She turns over to look at her clock and plans herself at the numbers, "Damn it, 12 p.m." She looks around the house to make sure Arthur is gone, and when she sees he is, she walks into Cody's room to check on him. She sees the note, opens it up, reads it, and reads his words, "Mom, me and Ria are going on a road trip to find Katie. She has valid evidence that could help. I'll be back in a week. I hope you can call me." She throws down her note and immediately calls him.

[at the gas station]
Cody's phone rings. He looks to Ria and says, "It's my mom." Ria replies, "Answer it." Cody thinks about answering, but he doesn't have the courage to do so. He doesn't want to have another argument. This road trip was good for his mental health. "She's just probably going to yell at me." He sighed and declined her call.

Katie narrates: "We both know that decline never ends well."

Ria sees a guy suspiciously staring at them; her eyes follow him. As he goes inside the gas station, she turns around to tell Cody to call back. "You should call back," he states as the guy walks back out. "I will just not-" she sees the guy pull a gun, and right before he shoots, she snatches Cody down to the ground with her, "watch out!" Cody worriedly says, "Are you okay?" Ria breathes deeply, "Yeah." When she peaks over Cody's shoulder, the guy is gone, so they crawl and run their way back to the car. They quickly get into the car, and Ria sees a big paper on the dashboard. "We are watching you."

Katie narrates: no matter where you are or what you do, someone is always watching you.
