chapter 30, happily ever after

1 week after

Katie narrates, "My life was no fairytale, but it was worth it."

(At Colton's house)
Mily says, "You're ready?" Katie nods. "Yeah," Cody states with a smile before he opens his arms and gives her a hug. "The retreat is nice... Their nurses are kind, and I met some great people to heal with in the group. I'm happy to spend this last day with you before you go. She hugs him back and states, "Same," as Anna kisses him and chimes in, "Hey." Ria states, "Hey! I texted everyone to meet me at Diana Donuts. Are you sure you want to choose the place where Katie cuts her off with a hug and a smile, saying, "No, why would it be?" Ria could tell that Katie was avoiding talking about everything; she was doing that thing she did when they were younger.

Katie narrates, "I knew it was going to be amazing."

(At Carlos house)
Carlos kisses Izzy, and Izzy says, "Can you believe this is our second date?" Carlos smiles as he replies, "No, but I'm happy we made it to see our second date." Emilia walks in and states, wearing one of Amber's dresses, "Daddy, how does this look?" He picks her up and asserts, "Oversized like your mother should be wearing it, let's get you into your own dress." Emilia sighs: "Oh no, Daddy's going to dress me." Izzy adds, "You're right, no offense, Carlos, but your taste is not a taste." Amber walks in and chimes in, "Then I can see why he's dating you". Izzy smiles and says, "You look nice, Amber." Amber replies, "Don't think we're friends, but so are you for once." Izzy takes Emilia upstairs, and as Carlos and Amber both say "hey" to each other, trying not to be awkward, Carlos states, "Amber Vuitton wears light colors?" Amber asserts, "I thought I'd try something different." Izzy yells, "Amber! Can I get some help? Emilia's hair is stuck in the curler!" Amber immediately runs upstairs.

(At Johnny's house)
Johnny walks downstairs and says, "We have to go. Katie's last day is today." Austin replies, "I would've been ready if Felix hadn't spent 3 hours in the shower." Felix states, "Sorry, not everyone can be clean in ten minutes." Austin asserts, "You're right." Haylee chimes in, "Why did I move with you idiots?" Willow sighs: "I am wondering the same." Johnny states,
"Because we're a bunch of stray teenagers who have nowhere to go except home, and we don't want to go." Haylee smiles at Johnny and says, "You could buy me my own apartment." Johnny smiles back and replies," If only I liked you," as he walks out the door. She rolls her eyes, and everyone follows. Dana kisses Johnny, and Haylee rolls her eyes and states, "And great, you two are back dating." They reply
"we're not".
"We have no label on us."
Willo asserts, "Why not put us on a drama reality show because that's not going to end well?" Austin nods, "Yeah, no label never works." Felix adds, "I agree with Austin for once."

(At Diana Donuts)
Katie smiles as she says, "I want to say thank you guys for sticking with me after everything." Ria holds her hand and replies, "always." Mily states,
"Does anyone want to tell us their plans after this?" Ria asserts, "My mom was the head of a high technology company, so was my dad, and I'm inheriting both of their companies, and I'm going to move with a foster family until I'm of age." Carlos pulls out some papers and says, "About that, Ria Izzy Emilia, and I was thinking, why don't you come live with us? You said you're going to a crime college, and we're both in law and... Ria hugs Carlos, cutting him off as she screams, "Yes."

Despite the fact that the day was magical, Katie narrates

Carlos hugs back, and Katie fake smiles, "I'm going to go get water." Jim brings mega-donuts to the table. Carlos looks up at him and shockedly says, "Jim." Jim replies, "Yep, I decided to work here instead." Caos stands up, puts his arm around his shoulder, and states, "Tell me all about it." Before they both walk off, Willo walks to Ria and says nervously, with her heart beating out of her chest, "Um, I'm sorry; I'm dying to know what we're after after the kiss." Ria holds her hand and replies, "Willo, I do like you, but after the mission and the chaos, all I want to do is rest." Willow sadly says, "Yeah, no, it's fine; I understand," as Ria walks away, and Haylee rubs Willo's shoulder as she states, "If it makes you feel better, we can patronize the boys later." Willo laughs. This mission brought her lots of new friends, and she was glad she had Haylee to make her laugh.
