{chapter 3} ʙᴇᴄᴀʀᴇғᴜʟ ᴡʜᴀᴛ ʏᴏᴜ sᴀʏ

[ Outside]
The man carried her deeper into the woods with his son's help. Johnny says, "Dad, what are we going to eat? It's 7 p.m." The man answers Johnny's curiosity with, "Nothing, Johnny, until we get on that private plane." The woman chimes in, "There it is." She points to the huge, private plane that landed. Johnny knew they were rich, but looking at that plane, he discovered they were fifth-rich. the private plane, the plane door pens and appear a short hispanic man, "about time hugo," the man said, which made Johnny realize it was the man from the phone. The man and Johnny carry Katie up the plane stairs and into it, as the woman follows. Hugo looks at Katie, who appears to be bruised up, with a huge cur on her head and a few bruises on her arm and legs, and says, "Wow, she looks busted." The man replies, "I know I was hoping Gregg could take a look." Greg chimes in, "of course bring her to the back, I can check her in the medroom."

He confusingly asks, "How did you fit a medical room on a plane, and why do you have one? How rich are we?" The man states, "I had this plane specially made; we've always been billionaires, and as far as the rest, don't ask questions you don't want to know, son." Hugo chimes in, "How did this happen? Did she go against you?" The man replies, "No, Vanessa happened." He looks at the woman annoyed; she crosses her arms and states, "Really, Dan, this again? "You were the one driving, and this was your idea; if I take this to court, you'll be destroyed." Dan smiled; there was no way she was going to do that. He asserts, "Go ahead; you know I can bring you down with me." Johnny yells to stop the argument between his two parents, "Stop, okay! "It's been a long day, and I'm tired. We need sleep. Tomorrow we're going to a new country." Johnny sits down in the seat. Hugo states, "I better fly this plane." Before going to the pilot area, a tall African American man stood up and said, "So why was I needed?"

Dan sits down in one of the seats and says, "Oh yeah, Ken, we need you to hack into Canada's social security, college, high school, and medical files; put us all into the system." Ken replies, "Do you have anything that belongs to her?" Vanessa takes her phone out of her pocket. "We have this," she said. Ken then takes it from her and smashes the SIM card out of it and states, "Now we're safe from tracking." meanwhile johnny gets up to visit gregg in the medical room. gregg grabs a pair of gloves, then takes a look at Katie's cut and says to himself, "Let's see how bad this is." He takes the x-ray machine and looks at her head, then her body, and begins taking x-ray pictures. Johnny interrupts him by saying, "Can I watch?" gregg replies, "Sure." johnny feels bad for the girl; he wishes it was something he could do, but his parents control everything.

Greg gets the x-ray pictures and throws away the gloves. "What does it say?" Johnny asked. Gregg replied, "Minor cracks, no internal bleeding, lost lots of blood, lack of dehydration, and since we have no blood donors, she needs plenty of food and water. I say 2 to 3 days before she wakes up." "The cut is deep but not deadly, but it hit some nerves, so the concussion is not fatal but some brain damage may have occurred. We might need Kyle to do a psychological checkup, but if we keep this IV hooked in, it's more than safe to say she's alive." Johnny sighs in relief. Gregg takes out a big bandaid as she cleans Katie's head and puts it on it.

[Outside]
Anna is walking outside to her house and notices the boy from school lives next door. She's been worried about him; she didn't see him at school today. She walks to Cody while he's sitting on the fence and smoking. Anna says, "Aren't you a quitter?" Cody replies, "Yeah, usually, but tonight I get a break." When he looked at Anna, she couldn't help realizing his hazel-green eyes; it gave her butterflies. She looks away from the group with a small smile and states, "Sorry about school today, and Sam should've been the one suspended." He smiles before putting the cigarette into his mouth, "Thank you." No one ever said sorry about the way someone treats him at school, except they didn't really count. He notices Anna's auburn red hair, fits her dark brown eyes, sits by him, and she says, "You know you're such a nice guy, I'll never understand why."
