Chapter 41 Part 1 (Next Shift)

Dawson walked into her apartment and closed the door. Then she leaned back against the door. "Gabby?" Casey called out from the next room. Gabby stood there silently. Casey walked into the room as soon as he saw Dawson's face he realized something was wrong. "What's wrong?" Casey asked furrowing his brow and walking quickly up to her. "What's wrong baby?" He asked running the back of his hand along the side of her face. "Tri-Tri. My-. She."Gabby stammered. "What? What is it?" He asked growing more concerned. Gabby shook her head back and forth. Then she knelt down and started to take Leslie out of her stroller. "I can't do this right now. I just-I-I have to go put Leslie down." Gabby said walking away to the nursery. Casey ran after her. "Wait Gabby!" He said walking in front of her and putting his hands on her shoulders. Gabby stopped. "Just-my dad...he isn't who I thought he was." Gabby told him her face dark. Casey furrowed his brow, confused. "What do you mean? Gabby what happened? When you left you said you were just going out for a run with Leslie. What exactly happened when you were out?" Casey asked concerned. Dawson shook herself out of her trance. "Just-just let me-let me put Leslie down first. Then I'll tell you." She said to him.

Chapter 41 Part 2 (Next Shift)

Gabby walked into the locker room and saw Trini standing there in the locker room putting her things into her locker. Gabby stopped and cleared her throat. Trini looked up. She gave her an uncomfortable smile. Gabby smiled back equally as uncomfortable. Gabby walked over to her locker. "Sooo...that was crazy yesterday." Dawson said uneasily. "Yeah it was. I mean- I -well." Trini slapped her thighs. "Okay I have to confess something to you." Trini said taking a deep breath. "Okay..." Dawson said getting nervous. "Okay. Well I actually...I-I knew. I knew you existed." Trini said. "What? What do you mean you knew I existed?" Dawson said her face a picture of shock. "Well I didn't know you exactly existed. But I knew that my dad...our dad had another family. My mom told me when I was younger. He sent child support to my mom and occasionally visited every few years and we went out to lunch or dinner. Like you saw yesterday. Then, when I walked in and saw you on the couch and saw that you and I looked exactly alike...I figured it was you. I figured we were related." Trini told her. "Why didn't you tell me?" Dawson said shocked. "I had just met you that day! What was I supposed to say? Oh by the way I know I just met you today but I think that your my absentee dad's daughter and I think we're sisters. Is that what you wanted me to say? Would that have made you happy?" Trini said flustered. Dawson raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Okay yeah I get it. Sorry it's just I'm...I'm very just... I don't really know how to handle this situation." Dawson told her frowning at her.
