Chapter Four

Gemma woke up the next day by hearing her phone ring. She looked at the clock and saw it was after three in the afternoon and she had slept through all of her classes. She found her phone wrapped in her blankets, she saw it was Damon calling and answered it.

"Hey Damon, not good to hear from you. But what's up?"

"Bonnie's dead." Gemma sat up with a start,

"What? When?"

"Since graduation. Jeremy told me awhile ago."

"Have you told Elena?"

"Not yet."

"I'll get a flight out."

"Please try to hurry."

"Of course, I'll see if Klaus can help me." Gemma hung up the phone and quickly got out of bed. "Klaus!" she yelled while she got out one of her suitcases and set it on the bed. Klaus came into her room.

"Yes?"

"I need you to please do whatever you do and get me a flight back to Mystic Falls."

"Why?"

"Bonnie's dead. My friends need me."

"Only if you come back will I help you."

"I promise."

"I'll call my private jet company." Gemma used her speed and quickly kissed Klaus on the lips.

"Thank you. I'll be back in a couple days." he took out his phone and left the room. Gemma continued using her speed to pack her suitcase and all her bathroom items. He came back into the room ten minutes later.

"You leave in an hour, I'll drive you to the plane. I also arranged a rental car for you when you arrive in Mystic Falls."

"Thank you. Give me ten more minutes and I'll be ready."

"Gemma, slow down. You haven't let it sink in yet."

"I can't. Not yet."

"Okay. Call me when you want a flight back."

"I will." Gemma finished packing and Klaus drove her to the airport. When she boarded the private jet, she took a seat. She got out her phone and texted Damon;

Gemma: On my way.

Once she was finished she decided to call Tyler before the plane took off;

"Hey, it's me. I wanted to tell you Bonnie's dead and I'm on a plane back to Mystic Falls." Gemma hung up the phone and felt the plane take off. 

When Gemma landed, she grabbed her suitcase and went to the rental car company, they gave her the car that Klaus rented for her and drove in the direction of the Salvatore Boarding house. She stopped the car when she saw Stefan walking along the side of the road. She quickly pulled over and got out of her car;

"Stefan?"

"Um.. Gemma right?"

"Uh, yeah? Stop joking."

"I'm not. I've had my mind wiped by some witch."

"No, shit. Then how'd you recognize me?"

"I've been studying pictures of all the people Damon say are my friends. But they don't do you any justice. Damn." he takes a swig of alcohol from the bottle he was carrying.

"Uh thank you." he took a step forward.

"You live in New Orleans right, with out mortal enemy Klint, right?"
