Chapter Eleven

Gemma woke up the next day at 6:30 when her alarm went off. She quickly got dressed and did minimal makeup before leaving the compounds, when she got to the rental place she easily attached the trailer to her car and left to load her stuff. When she got back she saw Klaus, Marcel, and numerous day walkers.

"Here to help." Marcel said with a smile. The two hugged and they all began using their speed to back up the truck. It took less than an hour and Gemma's once full bedroom at the compound was now empty. She left her room and went back down to the courtyard, see saw Elijah, Rebekah, and Hayley had joined the group. Gemma ran to Hayley and the two girls hugged each other tightly.

"I'll miss you so much. Please don't hesitate to call me. You're always welcome at my house. And in Mystic Falls."

"I'll miss you too. You gave me my sanity." Elijah was next to grab her and hugged her.

"You've come a long way from the baby vampire I met in Mystic Falls."

"You've changed a lot too, if you don't treat her right. I will come back just to kick your ass."

"I have no doubts."

"Now my turn." Rebekah called, "we've had our tiffs, but I've always liked you compared to your other friends. I knew you were unique when you were able to push me off you in the gym of your school. But never would have I imagined what you truly are."

"Thanks.. I think.." the two girls nodded at each other in mutual respect. Klaus walked away towards her car, but Gemma ignored him and walked over to Marcel.

"I had one hell of a time getting to know you." Gemma told him.

"You're one hell of a girl."

"I know." the two hugged, "give Rebekah time." the two broke apart, she reached the entrance of the compound and waved goodbye to all her friends, she noticed Klaus near her door of the car.

"Do you have to leave?"

"Yes, it's been one hell of a fight, but I'm not made for war."

"But I love you."

"I know. And part of me loves you too. But, I don't love myself right now and who've I have become staying with you."

"You'll always be my Queen."

"And I'll rule from afar." Klaus crashed his lips passionately onto Gemma's and she kissed him back with an equal amount of force.

"I love you, Gemma Walker. My Angel." she kissed him again and got into her car, and she left the compound for the last time.

Two hours into the drive she called Stefan's number. She told him, she would be home by midnight. He let her know, that he will be at her house waiting for her.

When Gemma crossed the town line into Mystic Falls she instantly felt as though a huge weight was lifted off her shoulder. She pulled onto her street and into her driveway. She noticed that Stefan was outside already waiting for her. She parked her car and got out, she used her speed and ran to hug Stefan.

"I need a drink with my best friend."

"Sounds great." they went inside and Stefan locked the door behind him. They got a bottle of scotch and sat in the living room, they sat close to each other, Gemma dropped her head onto Stefan's shoulder and took him in.

"What's been happening here in the month or so I've been gone?"

"Katherine's back, she's dying of old age, her daughter is a vampire traveler who wants to do something to save Katherine. And she's convinced I'm in love with her."
