It's been four months. Four months since the Travelers put the curse on Mystic Falls keeping anything with fangs out. Four months since Damon said goodbye to both Stefan and Gemma and the twins they were having. Four month since Gemma said goodbye to a dear friend. Four months and they were getting settled into a town together, preparing for the birth of their children. Stefan was determined looking for a way to bring Damon and Bonnie both back from wherever they went when the other side was destroyed; Gemma had hoped that her parents were coming back, but she knew they weren't. They had sacrificed coming back to help save them from Markos, as well as Lexi.
Stefan had managed to get a job at a garage working, trying to seem normal and Gemma spent her time trying to rebuild her life in this even smaller town. She spent her days talking to Caroline and Rebekah on a three-way call about the baby shower in two days, in New Orleans. Stefan had agreed for her to go only if he could come with her. They found out two months ago they were having a boy and a girl, Gemma was finally out of the insecurity phase and very much into the freaking out phase of the pregnancy, which was not much better. In fact it was worse. She was convinced she was going to be a terrible mother, and that she should just leave the children with Stefan once they are born.
Gemma was going through the grocery story in the town she was in before she went to go pick up Stefan from work. She was on the phone with Marcel;
"How's the new town?" Marcel questioned her.
"Boring as hell. Seriously. I get it's obscure, therefore safe. But seriously. I'm missing Mystic Falls. I'm curious to see if my house is in tact. All the things in the nursery still perfectly put together."
"You told me that your family was respected in Mystic Falls, I doubt anyone would let them touch anything in the house. Besides didn't you say Carolina's mom was Sheriff? Maybe get her to take a look."
"Caroline. And I do. She checks on it weekly. I had Caroline give her a spare key. I'm just paranoid. It's a side effect."
"I bet you look like you're glowing."
"It's sweat. It's disgusting. I'm disgusting. I'm huge. Like seriously. When you see me in two day, you'll say; 'holy shit who ate Gemma'!"
"Doubtful. I am anxious to meet Stefan. Finally."
"I think you'll like him. He's sweet."
"Good! A lot of the guys are eager to see you!"
"Don't lie to me. They all hated me."
"They feared you. There is a difference."
"Thanks. I gotta go, I'm going through checkout and then I have to pick Stefan up from work, we have to pack and start heading your way. We gotta make pit stops and pick up Elena, Caroline, and Bo-"
"It's okay. You know. To say her name. It's natural to miss her and Damon."
"Doesn't make it suck any less. But seriously, this cashier is giving me an annoyed look and I need to pay for these groceries before my water decided to break all over the damn floor."
"You still have three months until you're due, Gem."
"I know. But bye, see you in two days, Marcel."
"See you soon." Gemma hung up her phone and smiled at the cashier and gave her a smile. "Don't worry, my waters not going to break." she gave me a nervous laugh, "he's just a pain in the ass to get off the phone."
"Husband?" the cashier questioned, I felt a presence next to me and looked up and saw Stefan, I gave him a confused look before turning back to the cashier.
