Your head was pounding when you came back to the camp, even though the blood and wounds were gone now, but the whole trial had left you a bit drained. Not enough to put a damper on your mood though. Standing up you dusted off your clothes and looked around; you weren't far from your tent but not far from where David was either.

He was sitting against a tree a bit off, watching you while he sharpened a stick in his hand with a stone he had somehow sharpened as well. The sight of him had your blood running cold but the glare you gave him was anything but.

Judging by the smirk he returned you assumed he was going to be watching you for some time. That meant a high risk for him watching your tent and potentially seeing you slip out with the killer when he approaches. David wouldn't keep it quiet if he had that information, and would use it against you any way he could.

You sat there mulling over how you could get his attention off of you for a moment before your salvation approached you. Yui.

"Mouse, I heard a bit from Cheryl." She knelt down next to you and glanced towards David. "He wasn't helpful again was he?"

Grimacing you shook your head, looking down at the ground. "At the end of the trial we both were being chased. Every time I tried to break away he would run in front of him. I got downed first, and then he shortly after. I can't outrun a killer but he could and he knew that."

Yui nodded, her eyes glued to David's figure. "Cheryl said something similar. He used her as a shield as well and thus she got sacrificed. Claudette said you tried to get to her in time but couldn't manage."

You sighed dramatically. "I'm not a runner. The longer I'm in a chase the more useless I am. I'm a good quick decoy or on the generators- that's it."

"I know."

"And now he won't stop glaring at me. What the hell did I ever do to piss him off Yui? First the drunken harassment and now he plans to burn his eyes into my skin or something. I was going to go lay down but it creeps me out if he's going to watch my tent. I like my privacy."

"I'll talk to him Mouse, go rest up." She patted the top of your head and then got up. You watched out of the corner of your eye as she approached David.

He was far enough he was out of ear range but by the expressions and gestures between the two you could easily imagine what was being sad.

And like always, Yui won. David got up and stormed off to his tent on the other side of the camp.

Good. Free of the nuisance of David you made your way to your tent making a show of being weary.

All that was left was to wait. Would he come right away or let you simmer in agony for a while? Would he really come?

You were obsessed with him, but to him you were simply a means of entertainment: another victim. Yet as long as his eyes were on you that was all that mattered.

You felt like you would go stir-crazy if you just sat here waiting, but you also wanted to know exactly when he approached; the two holes in the back of the tent wouldn't be enough. You moved over to tie up the back entrance to give you an open view of the forest.

No way you could miss the approach of his bright jacket and magenta pants now. Smiling to yourself you turned to the other contents of your tent. The lantern was dim, on top of a small stack of the diaries you had collected, but it illuminated the small tent enough. There was another stack of books next to it and a duffle bag next to that full of your limited clothes. All that was on one side of the tent with your bed roll and pillow on the other.
