Marc and Sarah's weekend trip to Louisville for the NWSL Championship Game (the Washington Spirit defeated the Chicago Red Stars, 2-1, in extra time) allowed the two of them to deepen their emotional bond with one another and resulted in them saying "I love you" to each other as they fell asleep on Saturday night. The pair returned to Harrisonburg exhausted from their 48-hour whirlwind tour, during which Sarah appeared at the Butchertown Block Party on Friday night and on Saturday's NWSL Championship pre-game show hosted by Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris.
Although there were no classes Thanksgiving Week, there WAS a bit of activity happening on campus.
* The women's volleyball team spent Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday practicing in the Convocation Center, laying down some groundwork for (hopefully) hosting NCAA Tournament matches there next weekend. The bigger venue brought a bit of a jump to the team's morale, as the season-long goal of the seniors began to take shape in front of their eyes.
* In the newest rankings, JMU moved up to 14th in the AVCA Coaches' Poll and 15th in the RPI. A projected bracket posted on Monday afternoon had the Dukes in the NCAA Tournament, but not seeded. Instead, they would be going to Gainesville, FL for the first and, should they win, second rounds, facing South Alabama and then the winner of Florida and Florida A&M.
* In between online advising appointments, Marc pulled together all the information needed to put his and Sarah's itinerary for AVCA and the holidays together. Their schedule would be as follows:
Dec. 12 - Depart Harrisonburg for Columbus (6-7 hour trip by car)
Dec. 19 - Fly from Columbus to Milwaukee (American Airlines 4056/6130, Depart 11:41am, Arrive 2:14pm, layover in Chicago), have one of the JMU folks drive his car back to campus
Dec. 23 - Fly from Milwaukee to Dallas (American Airlines 1735, Depart 1:15m, Arrive 3:55pm)
Jan. 1 - Fly from Dallas to Washington (American Airlines 2817, Depart 10:31am, Arrive 2:24pm), pick up by Lauren Sander at Reagan, return to campus

Following practice, several of the players went to D Hall for lunch before leaving for their Thanksgiving weekend destinations.
