TW: Mentions of sexual assault. Proceed at your own risk.

Marc: Give me a couple of minutes to get somewhere more private and where I'm not disturbing Sarah.
Marc exited his apartment with her phone and quietly navigated his way into the stairwell between the second floor and the first. Once he had taken a seat on the landing, he spoke again.
Marc: I know you wouldn't be calling at, what, 2 in the morning your time unless there was a very good reason to seek my assistance. What's up?
Sophia: I'm at Tulane Medical Center with Cam and Annie. We were at a party tonight and something happened to Cam. She disappeared for a bit and when we saw her again, she was completely out of it and looked as though she was ready to do the walk of shame up Bourbon Street with us. I brought her to the hospital because she didn't look to have been in a condition where she could have willfully gotten busy with someone. Annie's in the exam room with her while I went to the waiting room to contact you.
Marc: Do you have anyone nearby for support at the moment?
Sophia: Cam's mom, but I don't really want to contact her as freshman girl had a good bit of the booze tonight, as did Cam.
Marc: You have to do it, Soph. The possible assault on Cam is a much bigger issue than the inebriation or underage drinking. Call her and have her come to be with you.
Sophia: She'll probably force us to stay here for the weekend instead of bringing us to be with you and the others.
Marc: It will likely do Cam some good to get away from the scene of the crime and be around us. If mom puts up a fuss, have her give me a call. I want to keep this away from Lauren's ears because of the underlying issue concerning her and Annie.
Sophia: What time will you be getting to Gulf Shores?
Marc: Our flight gets into Pensacola at 3:28pm. Count about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes to get to our hotel from there. Have Cam call me once she's able. Getting her story pulled together might help in getting justice should she have been involuntarily penetrated.
Sophia: Even though I know what you mean, I'm really glad you didn't use the R word despite it being what probably happened.
Marc: Give my love to Cam, and I hope to get her on the road to whatever emotional recovery needs to be done sometime today.
Sophia: Love ya, big bro.
After hanging up, Marc returned to his apartment and started working on a list of questions and prompts to get Cam talking and pull together the full story of what occurred. Around 6:00, Sarah appeared and sat down next to him.
Sarah: Why did Sophia call and want to speak with you?
Marc: She, Cam, and Annie had been at a party earlier tonight and it's possible that Cam was taken advantage of by one or more attendees. I told Sophia to have her contact me once she was able. Nothing is really going to happen for a couple of hours at least, so let's try to grab a bit more sleep on the couch.
Marc and Sarah got themselves situated, with her head resting against his chest and his arms wrapped around her. Once comfortable with their positioning, the pair relaxed and soon returned to the Land of Nod.

After rousing from his early-morning nap, Marc called Mandy to get some insight on Cam's possible mental condition.
