Marc and Sarah drove up to Washington after her Thursday night class, wanting to pack as much into their mini-vacation as possible. After arriving at the Renaissance Hotel, the pair quickly changed and hit the sack as it was already almost Midnight.
Their Friday adventures consisted of being touristy and visiting the museums and monuments on and surrounding the National Mall. The pair ended up meeting Rebecca and Savannah for dinner at Buca di Beppo as the two of them were in town for the President's Day Weekend as well. Over pasta, salad, and wine, Rebecca mentioned to Sarah and Marc her visit earlier in the day with the athletic director from her high school about possibly playing one of the Dukes' Spring games at St. John's College, getting a provisional OK. She brought up the fact that five members of the team were from within a three-hour radius of DC (her, Savanah, Danielle, Hannah, and Emma), which got the rest of the table spit-balling over who they could get to come to Washington, with the players asking Marc to use his scouring tools to find a possible opponent based on common links between the programs.
The couple spent the morning of the 19th at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink skating, then went to Fado for lunch. On the way back to the hotel, they split up to run some errands in its general vicinity before meeting up back in their room, where they'd rest a bit before getting ready for their night on the town.

In their seventh-floor room at the Renaissance, Marc and Sarah were putting the finishing touches on their evening-out attire.
Marc: Babe, you look fantastic!
He walked over to her as she was primping in front of the mirror and placed a kiss on her cheek, which was followed by her turning to him and laying one on his lips.
Sarah: First time we're going on an ultra-fancy date, just the two of us. I know there might be some dirty looks given or gawking done, but I trust you to be who I know you are and deal with any gruff others might voice within earshot.
Marc: I am always proud of you being by my side wherever we go and, if I don't say it enough, I love you, Sarah.
Sarah wrapped her arms around Marc and, standing several inches above him in her heels, leaned down and poured her heart into a deep kiss. After breaking it, she said, "Oh, by the way, I love you, too."
After Marc put on his grey blazer and the pair did one final check-over of each other, they left the room and exited the hotel to pick up the Metro and head to Circa at Foggy Bottom.

Sarah: Our relationship came up over lunch on Monday because Ally was looking for some help on how to deal with her and Michael's inability to get egg and sperm together. I told her about our moments of passion, which led to her asking me if you could be enlisted to assist her with that project.
Marc: I see.....
Sarah: What are you thinking, love?
Marc: Thinking of how big an insult it was to you to be propositioned like that, and what her true motives are around all of it.
Sarah: She says she is looking to up her odds of conception. They're meeting with a fertility doctor in the near future, after which they'll know if there are problems with one or both of them.
Marc: How do YOU feel about her request?
Sarah: I'm nervous, seriously, especially if it involves more than just providing some chromosomes.
