The final week of practice and classes prior to Spring break at JMU was more than just a little bit busy for Marc.

* Devoting Monday to scouring the rosters for the March To May tournament next weekend, he found at least four potential crossovers with Sophia, Cameryn, and Annie, three of whom were from New Orleans and the other from Fort Lauderdale. He also handled Fall semester scheduling for the four freshmen (Jaydyn, Emma, Madilyn, and Annie) and familiarized himself with HR policy on newly-created and vacant positions.

* Tuesday led off with him contacting Janet Wigglesworth (Department of Kinesiology chair) and Jamie Frye (MSAT Program Director) about their programs and whether they accepted transfers, being told it was on a case-by-case basis, but that his heads-up about a potential one would make it more likely than not that she would get the thumbs-up.

* Following that, he met with Lauren to pitch the case for Cam, Annie, and Sophia to join them in Gulf Shores, providing details from his roster research. He then asked her about the release of the Spring and Fall match schedules, being told that she planned to have Nick do a media blast on the 21st. They also discussed the vexing issues of Savanah and Danielle's participation next year, as Compliance had yet to provide an answer on the practice player vs. manager question and no one had contacted Financial Aid about representative packages for the four categories of players (in-state counters, out-of-state counters, in-state walk-ons, and out-of-state walk-ons). Lauren said she'd ask Ally to take on that conversation on behalf of the program.

* Wednesday was spent watching via Twitter Live the Day of Duals from Georgia State, where the hosts swept Coastal Carolina, Tusculum, and Mercer, with all but one of the fifteen matches ending in straight sets. He also took note of players on the three opponents who were somewhat local to JMU in case one or more hit the Portal in the future.

Being unable to join Dana, Sabrina, and Rachel in Austin last night due to class, Sarah took an early-morning flight out of Dulles for the Texas capitol. While in the air, she spent a significant amount of time thinking over what has happened in the last week or two.

Sarah: It was good to see everyone last weekend. Sarah seems so happy with Kolten and her talking about a little one in their possible future is giving me a bit of baby fever. Tyler REALLY needs to find somebody at Tech and not just hold out until after she graduates. Katie's doing what all college freshmen do, stretching boundaries and trying to find themselves. I DO hope she stays at TCU, even though the fam is nearby and she would be liable to falling into the commuter college student trap.

Sarah: So Danielle and Maddy MIGHT be considering coming up our way in the Fall. How do I feel about this? I know I told them I felt relieved by Dani's unofficial shoot-down of Marc, but what if she's sort of in the middle, or Maddy is for that fact? Would they be as much of a thorn in my side as it looks like Ally could end up being? Marc mentioned some players hitting the Portal yesterday, but right now he is chalking up their entrance to gauging interest and not a for-sure move elsewhere. Two are sort of close geographically and the third is from the coast. All would be in-staters and one a grad transfer like Delmo (GSU's nickname for Maddy).

Sarah: Now, about Marc. When I asked him about what he and Dad discussed, he was sort of evasive, like it was top-secret. Then there was his saying he planned to visit the elders while I was away. Coincidence, or is there something afoot between him, my parents, and his relations? I told him after we made love on New Year's Eve that if he asked the magic question, I'd say yes. So is this a step in that direction, shoring up support for him to eventually do it? Shopping the archives in case someone has an heirloom piece to pass on? Do I inquire about his visit when I get back on Monday, or let it drop and allow whatever is possibly going on behind the scenes to come out on its own?
