Chapter 2: Talking to Akito

"Shigure-san...I would like to see Akito later today." Tohru held her hands tight, as she stood facing Shigure. He was writing his latest novel...which Kyo warned her not to read. She held her head down as she spoke to the silent Shigure. He nodded at her as he wrote down in his notebook.

"Why is that...my flower?" He asked her, while he took off his reading glasses. "You do know that Akito usually doesn't feel well enough to have visitors?" He warned her. She shook her head, and looked up.

"I have something I need to ask of...him." She wasn't sure if Shigure knew that in reality...Akito was indeed female. She had learned this from Kureno, the bird. He was released but he still stood in the hands of Akito. Without knowing why...she was still determined to break the curse that held all of the Sohmas together, and the reason was that she unconditionally fell in love with Kyo Sohma. The hot-tempered, orange haired, Leek hating, cat. The thought of the warmth she felt from him would one day longer belong to her, was very frightening. She had to convince Akito to break the curse, and she knew that she was being very selfish.

"I see...do you want me to accompany you?" He glanced at her from his book.

"No...that's okay! I'll start making lunch now...Shigure-san." She turned and almost bumped into a tall figure, it was Kyo. "Kyo-kun..."

"You're going to see Akito?" He blocked the door, preventing her from escape.

"Yes...If you can excuse me...I need to prepare lunch now." She politely asked him while looking down. She couldn't face him after she declared her love for him yesterday to Kazuma. Tohru was also afraid that she might burst into tears right in front of him, and he would start panicking. He shrugged and stepped aside, as she dragged her feet to the kitchen. She wasn't really worried about what Akito would say or do to her...no she was afraid that Kyo would not accept her or her feelings. That was the most frightening thing in the world. But she kept reminding herself that it didn't matter if he didn't accept her feelings. No it was...fine...just being near him was enough. Together with him, eating with him, studying with him, and even going grocery shopping with him. She looked down, and only a single tear fell from her eye. She quickly wiped it away and started to cook when she noticed Yuki come in.

"Hello, Honda-san." He placed his bag on the table and started to take out his papers. He had been at school all day, ever since he'd become the council's president. Tohru smiled, he was very responsible with his work and she wished she could be that kind, and hardworking.

"Welcome home Yuki-kun." She greeted him warmly, and glanced at him. He looked very tired with bags under his eye's. "Have you been sleeping much lately? You look very tired." He shook his head and smiled back at her.

"I'm fine Honda-san. I've been very busy with the student council work and such." He blushed a little. Tohru knew that the girl that slightly resembled her, named Machi was working with him. He seemed to smile more often and expressing his feelings more. She was happy for him...and she was also jealous of him, because they both, Machi and Yuki, had feelings for each other. Things were going well for them unlike Kyo and herself. Sadness crossed her face as soon as she realized this. No...I'm fine just being near him, she told herself. I'm fine.

It was time to face Akito as she headed out, and then she remembered. Twisting her head a little she spotted Kyo on his spot with his arms behind his head. He looked relaxed as he gazed at the sunset. She looked down as she ran to the Sohmas residence. There was the door, all big and still. She held her breath as she knocked on the door.

"Who's there?" A familiar voice spoke as she embraced herself. "Tohru?! HI IT'S ME MOMIJI!" Yelled the blond headed cheerful boy. He skipped to open the door for her, where she waited for him. "TOHRU!!" He cheered, as he ran into her arms. He transformed but that didn't stop him from cuddling her.

"Hello Momiji!" She flushed with embarrasment as she saw his clothes on the floor.

"What brings you here, Tohru?!" He said swinging his bunny ears over her shoulder.

"I'd like to see Akito please..."
