chapter 11:- Old faces

The day dawned crisped and clear, blue skies dotted with fluffy white clouds that drifted in the gentle breeze.

Reaching out for Josh's car I remove my backpack from my shoulders slumping into the passenger seat.

Last night felt like two years ago, broken,devastated and alone. Ryder's words going over again in my head, why if he loved me so much did he break me again.

I look to Josh who passes a coffee cup from Maria's as he gives me a symphatic smile.
The aroma of the fresh coffee together with the creamy milk automatically awakens me.

We ride to campus in pure silence, josh allowing me to process my own thoughts which I'm so grateful for.
Before long we arrive at the cad park, the main entrance within walking distance taking a brisk walk.

Lifting my head facing forward the bright sun blinds me, but in the shadows stands a tall dark figure dressed all in black leaning on the concrete wall, cigarette in hand and a mist of smoke engulfing the area.
I squint my eyes shut to see its actually Ryder standing there, just looking, waiting.
As we nearer the entrance Ryder comes in front of me.

" Hi can we talk?" He speaks so softly

"I have nothing to say!"

"Just 5minutes that's all I ask" Dropping the cigarette to his feet and stumping it out.

"Nope, sorry, not today. I'm late and Josh is taking me to class."

"Maybe later then, please?! "

"Il see what my schedules like."

"Bee we live together, you cant hide from this. Eventually your going to have to talk to me."

"We do, but today is not that day, I need to go to class!" Stepping aside from Ryder I walk away with JOsh by my side.

"Bianca, I have no idea what's going on with you too, but know that I'm here for you day, night anytime. "

I grab Josh's arm linking his with mine and just smile.

The week runs pretty smoothly, same routine, Josh picking me up, classes, library then hiding in my room not allowing myself to get wrapped up in Ryders world, but when I close my eyes at night the only face I seen is his before closing my eyes.

Finally its Friday and straight from finishing my lecturer which over ran the boys have a match. Luckily it's on the playing fields at the back of campus.

I wasnt interested in going but Mia forced me, told me to support the team and not sulk in my own self pity.
Rushing to the stands, Josh runs down the corridor along with Lucus.

Lucus kisses Mia as she wishes him good luck.

"Hey you! I'm glad you decided to come tonight, you can be my lucky charm. " Josh winks.

"Me too, good luck I'm sure you dont need it. "

"Can you wait for me after the game, I'd really like it if you went with me to grab some food."

"Aren't you out with the lads tonight match parties?" I question.

"Yeah but I'd rather spend it with you and I can always go after if needs be."

"Sounds like a plan, shall I meet you by changing rooms after?"

"Perfect" Josh said as he comes in close kissing me on the cheek.

We finally make our way to the seats Josh and Lucus had reserved for us.
Pushing through the herds of screaming girls holding banners for Ryder.
