Chapter 10

Kaden's P.O.V
Once Dad and I finished eating he looked at me and he looked a bit nervous. I looked at him confused.
"Kaden it is time that I tell you about your biological family. You are old enough now. What I tell you does not make you any less my son then Estelle and Scarlett are my daughters. When you were 3 in order for the province of Quebec to allow me and your mom to legally adopt you we were made to allow your DNA to be ran through the NHL players. The results came a few hours later that you were related to 2 goaltenders from 2 different teams." He says I look at him shocked.

"Who dad?" I ask.
"Your biological father is Corey Crawford from the Chicago Blackhawks and your uncle through your biological mother is Carey Price from the Montreal Canadiens. When we found out I felt you were too young to know. I also decided you did not need that pressure I wanted you to have as normal of a childhood as I could give you." He says. I nod in understanding.

"Corey may be my biological father but you are my dad. Does he know that he has another child?"I ask.
"We were never sure if he knew. I will be asking Carey when I tell him about you. The DNA results were leaked earlier today. Your name was never put on the test tho." He says.

"Dad before the season starts if it is ok with you can I meet my grandparents from my biological mom's side?" I ask.
"Of course you can let me get ahold of a lawyer to get into contact with them from what I know they live in Nova Scotia." He says I smile at him.

1 week later Carey Price's mom's P.O.V

I am sitting at home Carey's daughter Liv and his wife Angela are over for a visit when I hear a knock at the door. I get up and go to answer the door I see a man in a suit.
"Lynda Price?" He asks.
"Yes." He smiles.

"My name is Christian Parks I am an attorney from Montreal. 9 years ago my client Mr Fleury adopted a 3 year old boy down in Pittsburgh. The child's name was Kaden Elliot Crawford- Price. His mother was your daughter Mataya. Kaden is 12 now he asked his adopted father to meet his grandparents on his mom's side. As far as we know the child's biological father Corey Crawford has no idea of the existence of him." Christian says which brings tears to my eyes that we have finally found my grandson.

"What is his adopted family like?" I ask.
"Well a week ago they just relocated to Las Vegas Nevada for his father's job. Kaden plays Hockey he dreams of being a professional hockey player. His hockey idols are his dad Marc-Andre and Carey Price. Like them he plays goalie. He has two younger sister's Estelle and Scarlett. His dad Marc- Andre is a professional hockey player. Marc was recently drafted to the Vegas Golden knights from the Pittsburgh Penguins. But during the off season they live near Montreal. Then there is his adopted mom Veronique. Kaden is a normal kid that loves to play hockey. Kaden has a very close relationship with Marc-Andre. Marc-Andre wanted him to grow up as normal as possible. Even with him being raised around money he is a very down to earth kid. He picked a lot up on Marc-Andre's personality. " Christian says. I smile.

"Wait he was adopted by Marc-Andre Fleury." I say.
"That is correct. Kaden feels more comfortable speaking his first language of French. He speaks English very well tho. Due to Marc-Andre being French he has kept his French Canadian accent." Christian says.

"Does he know who Carey Price is to him?" I ask.
"He does. He has met Carey. Carey is not aware on who Kaden is tho." Christian says.
"Is it possible to bring Kaden here to B.C." I ask.
"It is Marc-Andre will come out with him." Christian says.
"That is fine." I say with a smile.

"Ok well we will be in touch. I will speak to his father and I will let you know when he can come down." Christian says.
"Sounds good." I say. He shakes my hand he hands me his business card and I hand him a piece of paper with my number on. I close the door and walk to the living room and sit down. Angela ran over and gave me a hug.
"What is it?" Angela says as my husband Jerry walks into the room.

"Mataya's son Kaden's adopted father just reached out. Kaden wants to meet us. Kaden lives in Las Vegas Nevada. He was adopted when he was 3 in Pittsburgh. He has a good stable home." I say Jerry tears up.
"We need to call Carey." Angela says.
"Yes we do I will phone him now so he can be here when Kaden comes down." I say.

I pick up my phone and called Carey. He picks up right away.
"Hey mom." He sounded like he just came off of the ice.
"A lawyer just showed up Mataya's son adopted father has made contact. Kaden wants to meet us." I say. I heard a crash on the other end it sounded like Carey dropped something.
"When mom? Where does he live now? What is he like?" Carey says.

"The lawyer is going to get back in contact with his adopted father and let me know. Kaden just moved to Las Vegas Nevada a week ago from Pittsburgh. The lawyer says that he took on his adopted father's personality quite a bit. Kaden loves hockey and dreams of going pro he is a goalie. He idolizes you and Marc-Andre Fleury. I was told that he is really down to earth even tho he was raised around money and he has a close relationship with his adopted father. He was adopted when he was 3. He has 2 younger sisters.." I say.

"He sounds great. Do we know his adopted father's name." Carey says.

"Yes. Marc-Andre Fleury the goalie that was taken by the Golden knights from the Penguins." I say.
"Flower is a good man. I have seen those 2 together they are close. Kaden is a good kid. That kid will be a great goaltender someday the year he can be drafted every team in the NHL will be fighting for 1st NHL draft pick. Marc-Andre called me last night and told me everything. Corey doesn't know that Kaden is his tho." Carey says we talk for a few more minutes before hanging up.
