Anidita: Mending the relationship

LONDON: Part I

I fluttered my eyelashes and opened my eyes. My head was slightly spinning, so I tried to bring my hand to my temples, but I wasn't able to move it. Something - someone - was holding it. I turned my head at my right side and saw Barrister Babu holding my hand and sleeping on the chair. He clearly looked uncomfortable. I bet he is going to get a good back pain later. Pushing off my thoughts, I tried to sit without disturbing him. But failed.

"Bondita? " He rubbed his eyes and blinked to see clearly. His face lightened up suddenly and he hugged me taking me in surprise. What happened to him suddenly?

"Bondita tum thik ho. Tumhe pata hai main kitna darr gaya tha" He blabbered while I patted his back, trying to calm him.

What had happened to me? I tried to remember past events, but that just made my head to ache more. I winced slightly and Barrister Babu parted from me.

"Ky-Kya huya Bondita?" He said examining me from head to toe, looking for any injury.

"Main thik hu. Bas thoda sar dard kar raha hai" I replied. My voice came hoarse and that's when I realised that my throat was dried up.

"Barrister Babu pani"

He nodded his head in response and immediately filled a glass from the jug that was kept on the side table. He forwarded the glass to me and I hastily drank the water, closing my eyes in temptation as the liquid passed through my throat.

I kept the glass back on the table and looked at Barrister babu, who was now sitting on the chair with a serious expression on his face. He surely wanted to talk about something, but before that I want to know what happened after I revealed about my plan.

"Barrister Babu main behosh k-"

"Dehydration aur kamzori ki wajah se tum behosh ho gayi thi. "

Dehydration?

Yeah! Because you were busy in your stupid plan that you forgot about your health.

No need to scold me Mrs. IRC. You could've remind me, but what you did?

If I would've reminded you then you would've started getting irritated.

If you know that because of you I get irritated, then why do you always come?

I don't come. I am already in you.

"Bondita! Bahut raat ho gayi hai ab so jaao. " Barrister babu ordered and I nodded, which again gave me a wave of pain in my head.

"Sar zyada dard kar raha hai kya? " He asked concerned.

"Hmm..." I hummed, pressing my temples.

"Ruko main sar dard ki dawayi laata hu" He hurried out of the room and came back in a blink of eye. I took the medicines and slept, not before making a mental note to meet Arvind kaka later.

"Where you going Bondi?" Rose asked me as I was about to step out.

"Umm... Nowhere. I just wanted a bit fresh air. " I lied.

"But you should res-"

"Arey Hindustan main aao tum dono. Ye London nahi hai" Kaka sasur ji spoke with a get-on-your-feet look.

"Haan uncle vo bas aadat haina toh" Rose justified herself.

And what justification will you give?
