"Main Anirudh Roy Choudhary" I said.

"Anirudh babu? Bondita ke pati? " The old lady asked and I nodded.

"Arey aayie na.... Andar aayie" She showed me the way to a room. "Aap yaha kaise? "

"Vo... Samarth aur Bondita-"

"Haan jaanti hu main sab kuchh. Apne bete ki taraf se main aapse maafi mangti hu" She joined her hands and I immediately spoke.

"Arey nahi nahi... Isme aapki koi galti nahi hai. Aap badi hai mujhse aur mujhse maafi maangke aap mujhe sharminda kar rahi hain"

"Main jaanti hu Anirudh Babu ki kis dard se guzar rahe honge aap lekin ye shaadi mat hone dijiye. "

I was left perplexed. Why is she saying so? She read the questions in my eyes and spoke.

"Kal Samarth ne bataya tha mujhe ki vo iss shaadi se khush nahi hai par sirf Bondita ke liye usne haan keh diya"

"Kya? Par usne toh kaha tha ki vo Bondita se pyaar karta hai"

"Vo apni dosti aur bachpan ke lagaav ko pyaar samajh baitha hai"

Can't the same logic go for Bondita?

Samarth's POV:-

"Bondita tum jaanti ho na ki tum kya kar rahi ho?" I whispered to her angrily.

I was left dumbstruck after finding that Bondita has planned our gaye halud, without even informing me. What the hell is wrong with her? Why is she behaving so?

I was in her room and she was dressing up for our pre wedding ritual. She was draped in a yellow saree and was combing her hair, while we talked through the mirror.

"Haan! Jaanti hu main" She shrugged.

"Tumne humari gaye halud ki tayyariyan kar li aur mujhe bataya bhi nahi"

She stood up and came towards me. "Kyu? Tum nahi chahte ki humara vivaah ho? "

"Lekin itni jaldi.... "

"Haan toh kya huya.... Ye sab chhodo, vo dekho vaha tumhare liye gaye halud ke liye kurta rakha hai. Jaldi se tayyar hoke neeche aa jaana"

She went past me, without even letting me speak a word. What is happening? Today is my gaye halud and I didn't even know about it. And now suddenly my bride has asked me to get ready. She isn't even completing the rituals properly. Groom's family brings haldi for bride and here my mother didn't even know that her son is being married.

I sat on the bed, exhausted. Why am I not feeling good? This was what I wanted and dreamt for my whole childhood, then why I feel like leaving everything here and run as far as I can. I came back from my thoughts with a sharp thud voice. I immediately stood up and went downstairs.

Bondita was standing in middle of the hall, with a neutral face, looking down. I followed her gaze and saw some turmeric splattered near her foot with broken pieces of a brown earthen bowl. I looked up and saw Anirudh babu, whose hand was all covered in yellow. So it means that he...

He stepped towards Bondita and looked in her eyes with rage while she also gazed him with same intensity of anger. I sighed in relief that none was amidst them, or else he would have burnt in ashes till now.

Kate came from the stairs and was also shocked after seeing the heated environment. I glanced at her and asked her to be quiet. She closed her mouth and mouthed a 'what happened', coming towards me.
