As I walked towards the boardwalk I looked over to my left and saw a giant cliff. Normally I wouldn't go , towards a cliff but I just had to take a peak. I looked out over the water and saw the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen. I looked over as I turned around and saw four dirt bikes laying on the ground. Then I saw the stairs leading down, I thought to myself maybe tomorrow I'll go and explore down there definitely not when it's starting to get dark.
The music got louder and louder I could tell I was getting closer. Finally I made it. I checked my watch and saw it only took 20 minutes to get there. I could smell all sorts of foods, but one was more potent then all the others. Chinese. I walked in the small restaurant, I could see four biker looking guys sitting in the far corner. I could feel their eyes on me, I walked up the counter and order some rice and some chicken. I put my book that I had been carrying around in my bag on the counter. The lady saw it and instantly looked over to the four boys in the corner.
Once I paid and was handed my meal I put everything back in my bag and walked out. I sat down on to a bench and took my book out. It was a leather bond book, with a purple crystal on the front and moons etched into the leather. I've had since I was 15 when things started to become, well complicated. It had all my thoughts in it. It had all my flowers and herbs names in it and what they all mean and what they are used for. I was so lost in thought reading all the stuff I wrote in it after I met my birth mother.
She was always talking crazy, things like vampires and witch's, the whole 9 yards. "Never go to Santa Carla, never!!" She would always say. She said she was trying to protect me all these years. I had just finished my chicken when one of the boys from the restaurant came riding by on his bike. I looked up just in time to lock eyes with him. He had tan skin, and long dark hair. He wasn't wearing shirt just his leather jacket , a necklace with some sort of bone on it, dark colored pants and boots.
I looked back down at my book and before I knew it he was sitting in front of me.
" Your new here, aren't ya?"
" Is it that obvious?" I asked
" Well you see, I have lived here awhile and I haven't seen you before. My names Dwayne, and you are?"
"Rin, just Rin." " Well just Rin, what brings you to Santa Carla?" I started to explain how I inherited a mansion over by the big cliff, when suddenly a few of his friends showed up.
" Dwayne, buddy aren't you going to introduce us?" I looked over and saw two blondes, one had sandy blonde curly hair that was long in the back with a very colorful jacket. The other longer blonde hair , with a mesh shirt.
" I'm Rin. Nice to meet you." I said with a half smile.
"This is Marko." Dwayne said pointed to the curly haired boy. " and this is Paul." Pointing to the guy in the mesh shirt.
" What ya reading there Rin? That looks like a fancy book." Paul said as he punched marko in the arm. " Oh it's just a book I write stuff in, nothing special." I explained as I was looking at it in my hands. I didn't realize how late it got and I looked around " I should get going, I got to unpack all my stuff tomorrow. But it was nice meeting you guys. " I waved goodbye and they did the same. I looked back and saw another guy with them, his hair was not a natural shade of blonde, he had a mullet which I thought was odd because it was 2008 and mullets have been out of style for awhile. he wore all black. He kept staring at me.
As I made my way back towards what I now call home I got to the cliff and heard a familiar noise. It was the boys from earlier. Paul rode up next to me, " Look who it is boys?" Marko had rode up and stopped next to Paul . " Rin what you doing out here?" He asked. " well I'm walking home, I live just over there." Pointing to the mansion at the top of the hill on the other side of the woods.
" Looks like we have a new neighbor." Said the boy that I wasn't introduced to earlier.
" Well I better get going, but you guys can stop by anytime you like." I said as I waved goodbye.
