Part 14: Am i going crazy? (Rins pov)

It's been almost an hour since the boys left. I finished up cleaning the dishes and taking care of the beer bottles. Emerald was laying in his bed. I went and started a fire in the fire place. I heard a loud thud coming from upstairs. I grabbed a flash light and a baseball bat that was leaning up against the wall. " hello , whose up there.?" No one answered but there was another thud. I went up the stairs slowly. I kept thinking come on this is how all the girls die in the movies. Why am I doing this. I finally made it up and went to the first room the door was open I looked around and heard another loud thud.
It came from the door at the end of the hallway. I hadn't made it that far into cleaning that room yet. I reached for the door knob and opened it. I could see a chair over turned on it's side. The moon light was shining in through a crack in the board covering it. That's when I felt an icy breath on my neck. " hello Rin." I turned around but no one was there. I know I heard that. " you can't see me but you can hear me. I know you always felt different. I know you always felt there there was something wrong with you. I can help you with that. All you have to do is one thing." I answered the voice back " how do you know my name?. "Oh come on now Rin. I've been watching you since you turned 15. That's when you noticed something was different about you. Do you want to know why you love plants so much? Have you ever questioned why you have these strange feelings. Just let me show you something."
The voice was in my head. I could see my adoptive parents car driving on the road. " I was there that night. I was there when it happened. I know you blame yourself for what happened. If only you didn't pick that fight with them." I could feel the tears start to build up. " what did you do? Did you hit them causing the accident?" "Oh silly girl. I don't have that much power but you do. I could hear your thoughts in that very moment. You wanted them dead, what were your exact words. I hope you guys die." No one knows that I haven't told anyone about the fight we had right before they left. " I can't take all that pain away if you want. I can show you what your capable of..." " No" I screamed " get out of my head!" " don't fight it Rin, I'll see you again very soon." With one last image shown to me in my head I screamed as loud as I could. Nothing has ever scared me this much before, i dropped my bat and started to run to the door. I ran down the stairs almost tripping in the process. I flung open the front door and I looked up and saw the boys flying towards me. "RIN WHATS GOING ON." Marko said as he ran towards where I was laying on the ground. "I ...i .... I don't know what it was or how it happened but...." Before I could finish David was barking orders. " Dwayne , Paul go check out the house make sure no one is in there. Marko go check the back yard." The three of them took of running. I tried to catch my breath, David had kneeled down next to me trying to calm me down. " look your going to stay with us the rest of the night and in the morning you can come back." He lifted me off the ground and into his arms. "My cat, he needs to be feed, he needs me ." I cried out. " well he can't come to the cave he could get hurt falling down the old elevator shafts. He'll be okay." David said reassuring. I nodded and the rest of the boys came out. " to the cave boys." David said as he pushed off the ground. I closed my eyes for maybe a minute and we were Already heading down the stairs, I was still in David's arms. He sat me down on the couch. I couldn't stop shaking. Dwayne took his coat off and draped it over my shoulders. I kept looking around the cave, my eyes scanning every nook and cranny I could find.
" What's going on doll?" Paul asked as he sat down next me to. Dwayne was standing behind me and Marko on the other side of me. David was knelling down in front of me. "I don't know how to describe it. I had finished cleaning up from dinner. I was just about to get a fire going when I heard a giant thud coming from upstairs. And me being me I went to go see what it was. I should have just ran as soon as I heard it. I looked into the first room and then I heard it again." I took a breath and told them everything. Everything the voice in my head said and showed me. Marko had put his arm around me stroking my arm trying to help calm me down. I was a blubbering mess. David go up started to pace " your gonna stay here at night for a while. We'll keep you safe. During the day you can go home but once night falls your with us." He said. Paul had gotten up and went off further in the cave. A few minutes later he returned to the main lobby. " I made up a bed for you it's next to the elevator shaft so just in case we can get to you quick." Paul had said. " whatever it is isn't gonna mess with my girl." He said walking away. My girl I thought. I'm not his girl, but it made me feel a little bit better knowing someone cared enough about me to want to protect me. I could hear the birds starting to chirp, I knew what that meant. The sun was rising. " come on we'll show you where you'll be sleeping." Marko said grabbing my hand. He led me to a room right across from the elevator shaft just like Paul said. " it isn't the best I tried to get some of the dirt off the pillows and stuff." Paul had stated before going into the elevator shaft. In the middle of this small room, there was a bed I could tell it hasn't been used in a while. "Thank you." They smiled and followed Paul. I sat on the bed, terrified to go to sleep. Terrified of the final image the random voice showed me. I laid down and covered up with the blanket. I rolled over on to a small teddy bear with the name laddie written on the tag. Thank god Paul placed some candles in here or else I wouldn't be able to see. I laid there tossing and turning , eventually I fell asleep. Not knowing what was to come in the next few days.
