Part 22:David turning (rins pov.)

I had ran out of the store i I felt like I couldn't breathe. With everyone's eyes on me I couldn't take it anymore. I kept hoping someone would run after me, maybe Dwayne. We seemed to have some sort of connection when it came to stuff about life. It was like he knew what I was thinking.
"Rin" a soft voice called out. I turned to see who it was. " David." I said back. " I think we have a few things to talk about" he said softly as he lit a cigarette. We walked In silence down the boardwalk, making our way through the crowd. The lights all around us, people laughing having fun. God I wish I could be them, not having to deal with this. " come with me I want to show you something." David took my hand and led me to maxs old video store. He pulled out a key and unlocked the door. "don't you need to be invited in?" "No,  no one technically owns the shop it's far game." He opened the door and let me go in first. I could see all the dust sitting on top of the old movies and posters. It was like a time capsule. Frozen in time in 1987.
" We need to talk about last night. What happened between us..." he trailed off. I couldn't take it anymore I started to yell but I quickly hushed my tone " what do you mean? I kissed you, you kissed back? Is there a rule that you can't kiss people? Hell paul sits and tries to flirt with me, Marko tried to take a girl back to the cave the other night. You can't tell me it felt wrong."
He looked at me in shock. " come on I know you felt it. I know you can sense things. And if you can't sense how I feel then maybe you aren't in tune with your abilities!" He kept looking down messing with his lighter. " Rin, I can sense it. Every time I'm near you I can sense it. I've kept asking myself How could I care for a human so much? What makes her so special? The other night when I disappeared when Paul pulled you over to the concert and you danced. I came here. Max had a few books hidden in the office. I want to understand why I cared so much! I haven't cared for someone in this type of way since before I turned. And trust me it's not a pretty story. I did horrible things, to the people I loved , to the women.... I loved !" He screamed. Was this the real David? Was this the last shred of what was left of the part that was still human? " tell me about her?" I whispered as I walked over to him. " I had just turned 20 when I met max. He was well dressed, new to town. He took a liking to my mother. My father had died that past winter. He was always looking for a mate. I had an older brother, he was older .only a year or two. He was the perfect son. He knew I had my eyes set on a girl from our town. She had long black hair and her eyes were the deepest shade of hazel. He name was Maggie. But my brother always having to be so perfect and snuck his way into her heart. They snuck around behind my back for months after I had asked her if she was interested in me. I caught them behind one of the shops. They didn't deny it. I was filled with rage. I didn't know max was secretly having me drink blood. I snapped I tore them apart. Limb from limb. I felt so betrayed, I felt alone. I killed my own brother and the girl I loved who didn't love me. Max had smelled all the blood and rushed over. He told me he would take care of what was left of them. He told me to go south and there would be a cave. I ran as fast I could. I finally made it to the cave where I saw my mother dead on the ground. I just stood there not feeling anything. Max had walked in and said she didn't feel any pain. But she didn't want to be his mate. So he had no choice. He told me we had to go deeper in the cave to rest I followed. The next night we burned my house to the ground with my moms body inside making it look like my brother and Maggie had did it. We left and never looked back." I could see a tear roll down his cheek. " you have a choice Rin, I didn't. I just want you to make the right choice. If you choose to turn I wouldn't blame you. But just know if you choose the other option I will do whatever it takes to save you. I care about you Rin, I care deeply."
I took his hands in mine raising them up to my lips and I kissed them. He looked up but backed away. " don't do that David don't walk away! He rushed over to me and kissed me. It felt like electricity was going through my body. The whole room went fuzzy like we were the only two left in the whole world. He pulled away and said we should get back to the others. He grabbed my hand and led me out of the store. I was still trying to make sense of the kiss. Did he feel the electricity too?
