Part 20: Oh dear god help me.

I know I should have tried to talk to David about the night before. Why did I kiss him? I just had a sudden  urge to kiss him, as if it was destined to happen. I could feel how tense he was as we rode down to the boardwalk. I wanted to know what he was thinking?  Did he feel what I felt?
   Before I could say anything, we stopped at the frog brothers comic book store. I stood leaning up against David's bike with the other while David went inside and handed Alan the note. I could see Alan skimming through the note, he looked towards us and gestured us in. I trailed behind the boys not wanting to know the truth or not when suddenly I felt someone behind me. It wasn't the boys, I stopped dead in my tracks. " it's time to go Rin. Time to say goodbye." It was laddie I could feel his breath on me.
     David turned around to see what was going on. He saw me froze in fear and he sprinted towards me. He couldn't see laddie but he could sense him. David scoped me up in his arms, and ran towards the back room where the others stood waiting. " what the hell was that?" Marko said " she can walk you know she has legs." Alan sneered.
" you guys didn't see her? You didn't sense laddie?" He yelled as he sat me down. "He was here I felt his breath on my neck. I couldn't see him but he was there. That was the closest he's ever gotten to me before." I said through my sobs. " Rin it's gonna be alright." David tried to re assure me putting a hand on my shoulder.
   " Sam did give us some things. Not much but he said it was important. One was a book about a sire line or two. The other an old piece of paper written in Latin." Edgar shuffled through a box and handed everything to David. "Dwayne do you know Latin?" David asked looking at the paper. He shook his head no. I spoke up " I do." David looked at me with a soft look. He handed me the paper , I started to read it as David read the sire line book.
   " Paul was right, maxs brother is our sire. He didn't want max siring just anyone. It says John disposed of maxs bottle and filled another with his blood. Telling max he had put both bottles in a safe place. When John and max had to spilt up John grabbed one bottle knowing they both contained his blood." David looked up in confusion. " way to go Paul!" Marko said as he gave Paul a high five.
   I started to understand what was on the paper. I put my hand Over my mouth. That's what laddie meant when he said I was promised to him. "Care to tell us what all that means?" Dwayne said as David handed over the sire book. "It .... It talks about what kind of magic that created the spell and what kind of magic that is needed to end the spell. A human has to willing give up their life and slowly wither away in order for the spell to work. The person who is chosen to be protected will feel a connection to nature and once they are at its full potential and the human that willing gave up their life has withered into nothing the spell will be complete. Star gave up her life willingly so I could live in the shadows, not being detected by any creature of the night. Upon the chosen 15th birthday, their powers will start to grow until the soul who put the spell on them has obtained the chosen to be the next heir once they have grown into their abilities..... I'm the chosen, laddie is the soul who put the spell on me. It's binding that's why I can hear him and feel him. We're connected."
    " what else does it say." Alan said stepping towards me. " I'm pure which means I haven't killed someone or done anything to upset the balance that has been set into place. If In the event of my own death accidental or not the spell will be lifted and the soul who placed it will have to roam the earth in search of the next choosen." I finished and looked up and saw everyone looking at me except for David. He seem to be lost in thought. " what do we do?"
     " I guess I have to die in order to stop laddie." " your not going to die there has to be a way around all of this." Alan said. " there is one way, but I already know your thoughts about that." David had said chocking on his words. " but ultimately it's Rins choice." He said at he stared at me. " I would have to turn, wouldn't I?"
