Your lover's words made you smile. You focused on him and only him..well he made you.

Camilo who was trying to keep you away from your father the whole day succeeded.

It was late afternoon and the sun was setting when you arrived at the campsite. You cursed under your breath as you realized you didn't have a tent. Camilo snaked his arms around your waist. "Stay with me, querida." he muttered and kissed your neck, resting his chin on your shoulder. You looked at your grandfather for permission and he gave you a teasing smile.

You were sitting on the ground, watching Camilo set up the tent. You wanted to help, you really did. But he insisted that you rest or he'd ignore you for the rest of the night. He didn't want to see you working.

"Arepa?" your attention was directed to Luisa who just arrived and sat beside you. You smiled and took a big bite, Loving Julieta's cooking as always. Luisa's way of showing her love and affection was through doing things for them. You discovered this because you watched her almost everyday when she was doing chores, she's more on giving than receiving. so, here you are now, stuffing your face with Arepas as she told you about her day and mostly about donkeys. Everyone joined the both of you, eventually forming a circle around the campfire tío Felix made.

Camilo sat next to you then held your hand, and with his free hand, he guided your head to rest on his shoulder. The two families then spent the night chatting. The Madrigals showcased their gifts as well, played games, told stories, the things people do on a family bonding. Mariano also tagged along to keep Dolores company. You're happy. The Madrigals treated you as their own, you have loving grandparents, and Camilo.

Everyone then went to their tents. You were left alone, seated there and stared at the stars. You almost forgot one thing.

"Y/n." your dad's voice made you stand, laying your head down low you responded with a hum.

"You're indeed trouble, aren't you ashamed?" he went closer to you, whispering, not wanting anyone to hear. "Do you know how much it cost to find out where you are? Do you actually think you can get away from me? And that Madrigal boy? Really? You already found yourself a novio a month after running away from home? You little-" he raises voice along his hand, you closed your eyes shut, ready to feel the contact of his hand on your face.

Your breath hitched as you felt someone pull you away from our father, your face fell in contact with your lover's chest, his right arm holding you firmly and his left brushing the strands of curls off his face.

"Dare to touch even one single strand of her hair, I won't hesitate, Señor Rodriguez. So please."

Camilo exclaimed. He hated your father, but that doesn't mean he had the rights to drop the honorifics and address him in such dreadful manner. Aside from being taught how to fight for what's right, he was taught how to respect.

Your father scoffed. "We're not done talking Y/n." he glared at Camilo before heading towards his tent. You didn't cry this time. You knew Camilo would come, he'll always come and save you. He keeps you safe and sound.

You look up, locking eyes with him before wrapping your arms around his neck, tiptoed, and kissed his nose. He smiled at that sudden action and carried you, The kids are having a slumber party at Antonio's tent. The largest one.

You stayed up late with them, playing games, dancing, gossiping, and other fun activities you were able to do. Everyone eventually fell asleep, including Camilo who was resting his head on your lap. You brushed his hair off his face, leaning down you admired his peaceful figure, you poked his freckles softly one by one earning a light giggle from him.

"Can't sleep querida?" he pulls your head down gently with one hand, giving you a long soft kiss on the lips. He pulled away, eyes still closed and opens his arms, gesturing you to lay on top of him. And so you did. He pulled the blankets to cover both of your bodies before cuddling you, giving you gentle head massages and giving you one last kiss goodnight before you drifted off to sleep.
