Camilo didn't want her to spend the night at Hugo's household, so he asked his mother to approach her father for permission to have a sleepover. He'd consented because he felt threatened by the Madrigal's abilities and didn't want to get into a fight with them.

" Gracias mamí. " He warmly embraced Pepa's arm and kissed her cheek before proceeding to the room where the kids are staying.

As he entered the room, he realized that they had already started to party. She was in the corner with Antonio, playing on the floor. He smiled and went towards his sister who was reading a book by the window. He sat beside her, looking around to make sure no one could overhear their discussion.

( Camilo's )

" I gathered new info. " I strike up a conversation, Dolores closed her book and diverted her attention to me. " Me too, they're planning something. " she says and closes the window.

" So, what did you discover today? " mi hermana asked, being Camilo,

" I discovered that Hugo is a tough-guy wannabe. " I joked making her laugh then she shushed us both.

" At the cafe earlier, I overheard a conversation between government officials. Nicolas, Hugo's father is running as the Governor of this town, while Y/n's dad is running for mayor. " we looked over at Y/n who was chasing Antionio in circles along with Mirabel.

" Both families decided to join forces. Y/n's father needed financial support for his campaign, which explains her engagement to Hugo. He'd sold her to them. Señor Rodriguez was a successful businessman before he engaged in politics. When he lost Y/n's mom, that was the start of his downfall. " she adds.

" So you're saying, they're broke, which is why señor Rodriguez decided to run for politics? " I asked and she nodded.

" Y/n's grandparents, her father's parents cut him off financially, they already made a will when she was 7. Meaning, after their death, all of their money and properties will be under Y/n's name. Another reason why he treats Y/n horridly. And also explains why she's engaged to Hugo, Once they're married, Y/n's money will be shared with the Alfonso. "

I pursed my lips as I gazed across at her again, she was too young to go through all of that.

" So what're they planning? " I turned back to my sister.

" They're planning on buying the whole election after the wedding, and if they succeed, they will also take over the Encanto as it's also a part of the land they're running. " my eyes widened, I couldn't digest any of these.

" They can't buy the election, I know where they get the money they use, and it could lead to disqualification. " Y/n joined the conversation, startling us both " They sell illegal medicine from town to town. Who earns money by just sitting down doing nothing all day? " she adds with a straight face, she's not afraid anymore.

I stood up and was about to explain but she just hugged me and Dolores, mumbling the words

" Thank you. I can't thank you all enough. "

" We're family hermanita, of course we'd do anything for each other. " Dolores hugged her tightly.

I focused my gaze on them. My sister and novia, two of my favorite and most cherished ladies already had a strong affinity between them.

" So, what's the plan? " we looked behind us and saw the rest of my cousins standing there with a smile on their faces. " It's one for all, and all for one. " Luisa cheers.

We, the second generation Madrigals live for trouble.
