Chapter 9: Full Moon

                                                           Kayla

Kayla and Zane were having a great time talking and telling stories about when they were younger. Kayla looked at her watch it was a quarter to 8. "Wow time does fly by when your having fun. i need to get home before my parents start freaking out wondering where i am." Kayla said.  "okay." Zane said. they cleaned everything up and left the tree house. when they were on the ground again Kayla gave Zane a hug "Thanks for tonight i had alot of fun. It was a perefect first date." Kayla said. before she pulled away Zane kissed her. It was just as great as the first kiss they shared in his car. it was soft and sweet but Kayla could still feel a hint of urgency in him. But like a gentelman he restrained himself. Kayla on the other hand didnt know how long she could keep her restraint. So she pulled away, ending their kiss. "Alright ill see you tomorrow?" he asked. "Yeah of course." she said. "Be careful going home and call me later if you want." He said. "Will do. on both things." she said. "Okay, bye." Zane said. "Later." She replied.

Kayla was half way home when she realized that she had forgotten her phone on the table in the tree  house. She turned around and headed back to the tree house on the way there she started to feel sick to her stomach and get really hot. It was getting a lot worse by time she had gotten to the tree house and gotten her phone. She was out of the tree house and back on the ground when all of a sudden a sharp, unbaerable pain engulfed her body. Then pain was so intense that it made her fall to the ground. She balled her self into a featal postion and closed her eyes tight. The pain eased some and when she opened her eyes standing infront of her was Nick. her eyes got huge the pain forgotten for a moment "Am i dead?" she whispered. Nick smiled "No. Im here to help you." he said. "Help me, help me with what?" she asked but before he could answer another wave of the pain from earlier rolled trough her body. "im here to help you trough this." He said kneeling in front of her. "Nick what is going on?"  She asked trough the pain. "That is not for me to answer. but it will all begin to make sense in a few minutes. Right now what i need you to do is listen. Are you listening?" he said. "Yes im freaking listening, But it hurts." she almost screamed. "I know. But dont fight it. let whatever is trying to happen just happen." he said. "You can tell me that when you have been trough this." she exclaimed. "I have and fighting it killed me, Im trying to keep it from doing the same to you! Mom and Dad cant bare to loose another child in a transformation." He said sternly. Kayla didnt say anything, "Okay now relax your body and think of something that makes you happy." he instructed his voice now back to the softness it had been before. Kayla instantly thought of Zane. She was the happiest she had ever been when she was with him. slowly and little by little her body started to relax. "Now your next wave of pains will be here in a few seconds. Keep your body relaxed. and i will warn you the next wave will be the worst one yet." Nick said. and true to his word, the next wave of pain came and it was an understatment to say it was horrible. With this wave of pain she could hear and feel bones breaking, feel muscles tearing. "Kayla it is almost over just a little longer. Stay focused on relaxing."  Nick said. Kayla could feel hair sproting up all over her body. The pain was so intense she could no longer contain the scream that had been trying to escape her lips since this whole thing started. "Your doing great just breath." Nick said after the scream was over. Kayla got on all fours as the pain started to ease. When it was almost all gone she raised her head and howled. Kayla opened her eyes and seen Nick smiling at her. "Its done. You did it." He said excitedly. Kayla let out a small whimper. 'wait a whimper?' she thought to herself. She was immedatitely filled with confusion and fear as she turned to look herself over. Instead of seeing a human body she seen a wolf's.                                           

Kayla didnt have time to think as she heard some one coming her way. They were fast. "hide." said a female's voice in her head that she had never heard before.
