Chapter 12: Trust (part 2)

     Kayla lead Zane out the door and towards the woods. "So what are you that has my dad so freaked out?" Kayla asked. "Kayla you have to understand that what i am about to tell you is going to be hard to believe. But it is the truth and i hope you trust that i wont hurt you despite what you have read about m kind in books and seen in movies." Zane said. "I trust you." Kayla said. Zane took a deep breath, "Im a vampire." He said. "Wh....What?" Kayla asked taking a couple steps back. "You cant be. You eat nnormal food and walk in the sunlight. Plus i have seen your reflection." Kayla said. Zane just smiled, "Not everything you see and read is true." He said. "I have to admit if you would have told me all this yeaterday i wouldnt have believed you, but after learning im a werewolf. I guess anything is possible. But i have to ask you one thing, Have you ever killed anyone? Human, werewolf, or anything else that might be out there?" she asked. He could tell she was worried about the answer but he was honest with her "No never. We have been forrbidden to drink from humans for centries, they put that law into effect to keep my kind from losing control and killing a human. Which by the way killing a human is a law punishable only by death. No exceptions. Now when it comes to werewolves that is a little different no ive never killed one, but we arent killed if we kill one but as of 50 years ago when the war between us ended my leaders put in to effect that there are punishments if you kill one with out reasonable cause." Zane said. "So you havent killed anyone. That is a relief. but if you arent allowed to drink from humans then how do you,  you know get your blood that you need?" She asked. "your full of questions but that is okay. And there is several was to get the blood we need to survive. the way me and my mom do it is the hospital blood bank. we only need 2 maybe 3 bags a week so we go either every other week or once a month to get all that we will need until we can get there again. And another way is animal blood. But i dont like it very much it doesnt keep you as satified as human blood does which means you have to feed about twice a day." Zane said. "Wow i always thought vampires were these killing machines that didnt care about anyone or anything but drinking blood." Kayla said. "That is untrue. Which brings me to my next confession. We Vampires also have mates and well your mine." Zane said. Kayla just looked at him like she was confuesed so Zane told her the wohole story starting when he was at the mall. When he was done Kayla still looked confused "So were you ever going to tell me this or not?" she asked. "Yes but i wanted to get to know you first." Zane said. "Well then where do we go from here?" She asked. "Im not sure both our parents say that a werewolf and vampire has never been mates before so we are the first. We are both in unexplored areas." Zane said. "Well one thing is for sure, my wolf isnt wrong and neither are you." Kayla said. "Yeah. But how are we going to convince your dad of that?" Zane said. "We wont have too he just needs a little time to accept this." She said.
