                                                          Zane

"So what time is this meeting?" Zane asked Kayla as they were sitting on her back patio. "Im not sure, My dad is going to let me know when he knows." Kayla answered. "Will i have to attend?" Zane asked, honestly being in a room full of werewolves was nerve racking alone, and knowing they would be getting the news that he had put their future luna in extreme danger was really freaking him out. "It probably would not be a very good idea. We dont know how the pack will react, so it is probably best if you dont come." Kayla said. "Are you sure? I mean trust me under any other situation being in a room full of werewolves and me being the only vampire is not really somewhere i want to be. But if you need me there i will go." Zane said. Kayla smiled "Its okay ill be fine." She said. "So do you have an idea on how the pack will vote after hearing all the details?" Zane asked. "Not really. Im hoping that since i am a member of the pack and the future luna they will want to help protect you. There is also the point that the war between our kinds was just resolved 50 years ago some of the pack may feel like interferring with the vampire elders verdict may be fuel to rekindle the war. And then there are some that may still just hate vampires altogether and not want to help for any reason. So i dont have a clue."  Kayla said. "So where do you have pack meetings?" Zane asked. He was honestly courious about the inside workings of werewolf packs. "Well from what my dad has told me, they are normally held in the pack leader's home. But in cases like ours since our pack is so large we have them in the field out back. Around a huge bonfire." Kayla said. "Aww yeah my mom did tell me that your pack is one of the largest in history." Zane said. "Yep and that is because this palce is perfect for us. We have miles and miles of land to run." Kayla said. "I see, So how many people does your pack have?" Zane asked. "Roughly 300 to 400 werewolves that have successfully completed the change." Kayla said. "Wow And how many are going to be at the meeting tonight?" Zane asked. "Everyone. Dad is making tonight's meeting manatory. Unless you have a very good reason for not coming. Even then that person has to call dad and get his blessing on not attending." Kayla said. Just then Mark walked out. "So what are you two talking about?" he asked. "I was just asking Kayla questions about the pack. You know trying better to understand how it works." Zane said. "I see well have you learned much?" Mark asked. "Yeah i have actually. I hope it is okay that i want to learn more and asking Kayla questions." Zane said. "Yeah that is fine if you are going to be part of this family you should know about the pack. Actually Kayla our meeting is starting in about 45 minutes you need to go get ready while i talk to Zane." Mark said. "Sure dad just be nice, oaky?" Kayla said. "Of course sweetie." Mark said. As soon as Kayla was in the house and out of ear shot Mark turned his attention to Zane. "Im and happy you are taking an intrest in our pack, But just so you know we value trust over almost everything. And if you ever betray our pack by telling anyone any thing about us, you will be tried and punished as if you are a member of our pack. Do you understand?" Mark said. "Yes sir i understand. But i hope you believe me when i tell you i would never say a word to anyone about your pack. Not only do you scare the life out of me but telling anyone anything could possibly put Kayla in danger. And i will never do that to her." Zane said. "Im happy to hear that which leads me to our next topic if the pack votes not to help you tonight I would preffer if you leave town and not take Kayla with you. We both know her place is here with her pack. We can protect her. But if she leaves with you, she would be in constint danger." Mark said. "i have already thought of that and i do plan on leaving with out her if things dont go the way we would like tonight." Zane said. "Good I do have a mate and i do know what being away from them feels like but sometimes being away from them is the best thing for them no matter how much it hurts." Mark said. "You are right. But if i do end up leaving i would like your premission to write to Kayla just so that she knows that i am okay and she might take it a little better." Zane said. After thinking about it for a minute Mark answered "you have my premission but you are never to give her any idea of where you are. The less she knows the better." Mark said standing up. "thank you sir." Zane said. "your welcome and how about you call me Mark." He said. "You got it." Zane saod as Mark walked in the house. Zane went to his car and started home and waited on the phone call that would determine his future.
