Chapter 24: Waking Up

                                                                            ZANE'S POV 

      It had been almost an hour since the doctor had started to work on Kayla, When she finally walked out of the room. Both me and Mark stood to speak to her. "Okay we got the bullet out. It was silver. Normally as long as we could get it out  before it poisoned her blood she would Have heal almost instantly. But with the Drugs and wolvesbaine in her system and the fact that she lost alot of blood, It is going to take longer for her to heal and wake up. But as long as her wolf resurfes she will be fine." The Doctor said. "Is there anything we can do?" Mark asked. "Well it couldnt hurt to have her mate close to her. It may even help her heal faster...If you give her some of your blood Zane. It is a well known Fact that Vampire blood promotes healing. However i do have to warn you, If Kayla's wolf does not come back than the vampire blood will take over and so will no longer be a werewolf she will become a vampire." She said. "Thanks." I said walking into the room that Kayla was in followed by Mark. She was laying on the bed she was so pale she looked almost dead. I walked to the chair that was on the side of the bed. I reached over and gently took her hand in mine afarid that i was going to hurt her. "You know giving her your blood could help her." Mark said. "Mark what about the chance of her becoming like me could you ever really accept her like that? would she ever forgive me?" I said. "Zane she is my daughter i will always love her no matter what and i would never blame you if she became a vampire because i know that you would only do it to help her. Just like she would understand that you only do it as the last resort. Zane i'm not telling you what to do but having her here as a vampire is better than her not being here at all." MArk said. With that he left. I sat there for a while and Mark's words echoed in my head "It is better to have her here as a vampire than not to have her here at all."  I had made up my mind i gentle let go of her hand and lifted my wrist to my mouth and bite hard enough to bring blood. I gentle put my wrist to her mouth and let some blood flow into her mouth. When i was done and satisifed that she had gotten enough to help her i removed my wrist from her mouth and let the wound heal. I have no idea how long i sat their before i layed my head down and crashed out. I had not really slept since she had been taken so it was safe to say that i was beyond exhausted. I dont know how long i was asleep when I was woken up by someone moving my hair out of my face. I opened my eyes and seen Kayla staring at me with a smile on her face. 

                                                                            KAYLA'S POV

      I opened my eyes and blinked as the bright lights hit my eyes. After my eyes were finally focused i looked to my side and seen Zane. He was sitting in the chair with his head laying on my bed. He was sleeping and looked so peaceful i could not keep from moving a stray piece of hair out of his face. I guess he was not in a deep sleep like i thought cause his eyes opened at my touch. I just smiled at him. I thought that i was never going to see him again and now that i was he was the best sight in the world. "You look great but how do you feel?" He asked. "Well I'm a little sore and feel a little week but over all i feel fine." I said. "Well maybe getting you some food will help you with your weakness. How about Karma is she back?" He asked. "I think that the drugs Keith gave me is still effecting, I can't feel her very much." I said. "Okay well im going to go get the doctor and let her know your awake." He said. I guess he didnt know that i was awake when him and dad were talking about Zane giving me his blood. And i was also awake while Zane gave me his blood. I knew the risks of what he done but my dad was right. Iknew he only did it because he was worried that i would not make it. But honestly I could feel Karma she was there, So i wasnt worried. "Zane don't worry I can still feel Karma and i'm not craving blood. I'm still a werewolf. No worries. And dont start trying to explain i understand completely. You were helping me." I said looking him in the eyes. "You really are amazing." He said kissing me. "I know now go get that doctor. I don't want to be here anymore i want to go home." I said. With that Zane walked out the door.

     He returned a few minutes later with my dad and an elderly looking woman. "Well your awake sooner than i thought you would be. I'm doctor Long but you can call me Sarah. Now let's have a look at you." she said. After looking me over and taking my vitals she smiled. "Well you seem to be well enogh to get out of bed and walk around and even well enough to go home if you wish. I'm sorry but it appears that the gun shot wound is going to scar. That is because it was a silver bullet." She said. "Thank you so much for taking care of me." I said. "It was my pleasure. I'm honored to be able to help you and your father." She said before leaving the room. "So dad can we leave?" I asked. "Yes honey as soon as the sun comes up. It is like 3 in the morning so how about you get some more rest and we will leave first thing in the morning." He said. "Okie dokie. But before i go back to sleep i'm going to take a shower. I need to wash this dirt and blood off me." I said. "a few of the female pack members heard about what you have been trough and they figured you would need some clothes so they all got together and got you some clothes." My dad said setting a bag on the bed. "Great. By the way dad when we get home I have quite a bit of information for you to hear." I said. "Later sweetie. I'll worry about that when we have you safe at home in our pack territory." he said. "Okay."  I said. Istarted to get out of bed and stumbled a little but before i hit the floor Zane was there holding me up. "i guess i am a little weaker than i thought." I said. "Kayla do you think you will be able to take a shower on your own?" Dad asked. "Well i have to try. I need to get clean." I said. "I'll help you." Zane spoke up. My dad growled at his words. "You will not." My dad said. "She needs help and i'm not letting her go in there by herself and chance that she will fall." Zane hissed at my dad. My dad was turning red in the face i guess at the thought that Zane would see me naked. "MArk you have my word that i will not do anything inapporaite. Right now my top priority is keeping Kayla safe." Zane said. "Dad if i can't even walk what makes you think i have to strenght to do anything else." I said. It seemed that my dad decided to trust us. "Fine but so help me if anything happens in there..." My dad was saying when Zane cut him off "It won't." he said. then we walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind us.
