Thirty Eight

From the way things were going and the way she felt she knew it was only the early stages of labor. Keeping track of her contractions they were currently lasting around anywhere from five up to thirty minutes for around fifteen to forty seconds, though Lily had some amount of pain for the moment it was just in her back like that if she were to be on her period.

After being in a kneeling for a short amount of time she began to get tired and needed to move around for a while, with a grunt and a groan Lily began to stand up quickly being supported by Do Hwan.

"Are you alright darling?", he asked holding her hands slowly helping her to her feet.

"I'm alright don't worry, I'm just getting a bit achy that's all I just need to move around a bit."

"Okay, where do you want to go?", he questioned gently squeezing her hands.

"Could we go downstairs for a while I'd like to snuggle on the sofa for a little while and watch something?"

"Course we can Jagi."

Being slow and steady Do Hwan began leading Lily down the stairs keeping a gentle hold on her not wanting her to fall. Within a few minutes, they had made it down the stairs before Do Hwan made sure she was as comfortable as possible putting a pillow behind her back and covering her with a blanket.

"How is that sweetheart, is it a little better?"

With a nod and a small smile on her face, Lily placed a hand on her belly before thinking and knowing that this would be the last time she would feel her daughter kicking and moving around as only in a matter of hours she would be out in the world and the couple would finally have Eaven in their arms.

Nine months had led to this impending moment and in many ways, Lily felt at peace, despite the past she had with Micheal and the hardships she had gone through and for a brief moment in recent months, though she had been through a lot of pain by chance of meeting Do Hwan it was if she had been set free and over time she had learned to love again and knew what it was like to be truly loved by someone, to be happy and start a family.

Without needing to say anything Do Hwan could see the look in his lover's eyes he could see how she felt as moved to sit beside her taking her gently into his arms placing a kiss atop her head sitting quietly with her for a moment until a hiss of pain left Lily's lips alerting him.

"Are you alright Jagi, another contraction?"

"... yeah."

"It's okay, I've got you I'm here, I'm here."

"This is really happening isn't it?", she asked looking up at him.

With a gentle smile and a nod he helped her breathe through the contraction until it passed.

As four a.m. came around the contractions Lily was having started to become a little more frequent and intense but it didn't stop her from wanting to move around a little and before she knew it she began to have a random craving for brownies.

"Do Hwan, do we have any brownies I want some."

He chuckled, "No, but we can make some if you want to."

At those words, Do Hwan watched as his girlfriend lifted her head from his chest and sat up as quick as a flash, seeing the excitement in her eyes.

"Can we please make some? I'm really craving them"

"Sure, come on."

Even though the kitchen was only meters away from the living room Lily was already there looking through the cupboards looking for every single ingredient needed to make the brownies.

Do Hwan couldn't help but laugh at Lily racing around the kitchen, despite being in labor she was wanting to have those brownies.

"Jagiya, slow down. The brownies aren't going anywhere."

As they began mixing the ingredients Lily soon came up with a devilish idea. Once Do Hwan wasn't looking she quickly scooped up some of the mixture into her hands and turned to face him.

"Hey Do Hwan, think fast!"

Do Hwan turned back around but before he could react a ball of mixture came flying towards him splattering all over his face.

He gasped and looked at her in surprise.

"That's how is, is it, oh it's on Jagi"

He quickly moved and grabbed the bowl and began firing back at her.

It continued for a while until both were covered in the mixture, both Lily and Do Hwan giggled at each other.
