Forty Two

Once all was well with mother and daughter the midwife had left the new family to have some time alone, a few hours had passed since then and Lily was still fast asleep and for Do Hwan, it was no surprise how exhausted she was after being in labor and the hard work she had gone through to bring their daughter into the world.

As a gentle smile appeared on his face Do Hwan leaned down to press a kiss atop her head. For a moment the pause of silence was broken bit a small whimper and a sniffle, looking down at his daughter he watched as she moved her head a little before opening her eyes once again.

With a look of love in his eyes, the smile never left his face and he could not get over his beautiful she was and how gorgeous and unique her eyes were.

He had found out Eaven had something known as heterochromia when someone has different coloured eyes. Do Hwan hoped from what he had been told by the midwife before she had left and what he had found out about it on his own, he hoped as his little girl grew up in this world that she would be accepted for who she was and wouldn't be bullied and belittled by people just for having different coloured eyes but deep down, he knew she may have to face such people and even so he swore to teach her just how beautiful, special and unique she was.

"Hi, my beautiful girl did you have a good sleep?", he asked softly his voice but only a whisper. He watched her intently as she made cute little noises making small movements within his arms as she then balled her hands into tiny fists just as she grabbed his finger holding onto it.

With a soft chuckle, he rubbed his thumb over her tiny hand as she continued to keep a tight on his finger not wanting to let go.

"Aigooo... My little bunny has a strong grip."

Unbeknownst to Do Hwan Lily had watched the interaction between father and daughter in the last few minutes having just woken from a deep slumber and she found it only to be precious.

But needing Do Hwan she had to interrupt.

"Do Hwan..."

"Oh, Jagiya you're awake, how are you feeling?", he asked turning his attention to his girlfriend for a moment.

"I'm okay, just a little achy that's all."

Looking at her daughter in Do Hwan's arms she treasured the moment as Do Hwan spoke.

"Sweetheart there's something I want to show you.", he uttered.

"Okay, what is it?", she asked curiously as to what it might be.

For a second not a word was said between them while Do gently adjusted his hold on his daughter as he carefully put her in Lily's arms, realising she was no longer in the warmth of her father's arms Eaven began to fuss a little but quickly settled again now being with her mother. For a few seconds, Eaven gave out a few tiny breaths and sounds as she opened her eyes.

Giving out a soft gasp Lily looked upon her daughter in wonder ultimately taken back by her eyes and the beauty she saw within them.

"My baby how rare and beautiful you are.", she whispered holding her close stroking the top of her head to then press a kiss on the tip of her nose.

Before long, Eaven began showing Lily indications that she was hungry, with open hands she began to fuss a little becoming somewhat agitated wanting to be fed.

"I know it's okay sweetie I know.", Lily told her daughter softly. Pulling down her nightgown to one side she let Eaven latch on, with a gentle smile both Lily and Do Hwan watched their baby in wonder.
