Amber lay in her bed, wasting time before going to the twins' house.

She perked up when a notification from Dreddit popped up.

Amber loved deep-diving about her favorite movies on there, especially Stab.
She couldn't share her obsession with anyone else because no one seemed to care.
She also never wanted to come off as obsessed with her friends.

Two of her friends had been related to someone involved in the original murders.
Mindy loved the first one, but she didn't care for the entire franchise.

Even Wes's mom had been involved with the last Ghostface to haunt Woodsboro. The new Stab (8) was coming out very soon, but she had no one to discuss her excitement with.

Amber had found a community on these message boards that matched her enthusiasm for the upcoming movie.
Theories were discussed and debated, which Amber devoured.
She had posted a while ago that she lived in Stu's house.
She knew this would bring a lot of attention to the board, and it definitely did.

Specifically, she had connected with one user. Richie.
He had expressed a lot of enthusiasm for Amber's living situation.
He found it so interesting that she lived in Woodsboro.

They messaged each other consistently about Stab-related subjects.
Richie shared Amber's macabre sense of humor, which she hid from everyone else in her life. They shared a fascination with dark and sick things such as real-life murders.

If Amber was drawn to Tara's sweet innocence, Richie appealed to her inner darkness.
They had been talking more lately due to Tara's attention being with Wes.

Richie: (sent a link to Stab theory YouTube video) This one makes a lot of sense!
Amber clicked and watched the 5-minute video.
Amber: That's dumb as fuck. Just speculation.
Richie: Everything on here is speculation silly!
Amber: Touché. All I ask of this new movie is maybe a Halloween 2018 treatment.
Richie: YES! That's exactly what Stab needs to get back on track.
Amber: Been downhill since 5, guess it can't get any worse right?
Richie: Fingers crossed. What are you up to tonight?

Amber sighed.
She didn't know this guy very well.
She knew he lived in Arizona, and he was older than her.
He had sent her a picture of his face, and he was cute in a goofy sort of way.
They definitely flirted, but Amber hesitated to share any deep information with him.

However, he created excitement in Amber that was rarely awoken.
The danger surrounding their entire connection was extremely attractive to her.

She was about to respond when a text from Tara popped up.

Tara: heyyy come get me earlier? Like right now?

With that text, any thought of Richie escaped her mind.

Amber: God you really do miss me;) be there in 5

Here began her cycle of late.
She would crave Tara's attention, distract herself with Richie, and repeat.

Amber hated wanting something so badly yet was unable to have it.
She had never experienced someone not wanting her.

It broke her heart and infuriated her every time she thought of Tara.
How could she not see what Amber offered her? How could she make Amber feel certain things, but Amber had no effect on her?
She would rather have Wes? Goody-two-shoes Wes?

Nevertheless, Amber would try to shove her emotions deep down.

No one deserved to see her sweat, not even Tara.
