When Monday morning came, Amber felt a mixture of nervousness and excitement.

There hasn't been any chatter about her and Tara in the group chat, so she assumed Mindy hadn't told anyone.

Because Chad would've definitely said something by now if he knew.

It was surprising that Mindy had kept it quiet, but Amber appreciated it.

Amber was excited to be with Tara, publicly.
She wasn't a publicly affectionate person, but Tara was so special to her.

She wanted the world, at least their's, to know that Tara had picked her.

However, Amber was nervous about how Tara would act with her.

No one knew Tara was even interested in girls.
Would this affect their relationship?
She certainly hoped not, but she would be there for Tara no matter what.

Amber also worried about how Wes would react.

She could handle his anger, but could Tara?

Amber pulled into Tara's driveway before school.

The small girl ran out of the front door and jumped into the passenger side.

"Goodmorning, girlfriend," Tara giggled as she leaned across to kiss Amber's cheek.

This was a pleasant surprise for Amber.

Maybe I'm worrying too much.

Tara didn't seem to be be bothered by what the day held for them.

"I like the sound of that," Amber smiled as she backed out of the drive.

"I kept waiting for Chad to say something stupid in the groupchat last night," Tara offered.

Amber worried her bottom lip.

Guess not.

"Yeah, guess Mindy can keep her mouth shut huh?"

"I think she's genuinely happy for us."

"She's happy with anything gay related."

Tara frowned at Amber's tone.
She reached for Amber's hand.

"Something is worrying you."

"I was worried for you, actually."

Tara was confused.

"Me? Why?"

"Aren't you worried about Wes?"

Tara rolled her eyes, "I'm done worrying about his feelings. If he cares for me like he says, he will just be happy for me."

Amber nodded.

"And you're happy right?"

Tara squeezed Amber's hand.
