Don't Let me Down

It was rather strange for his parents to phone him at noon -- when it was eleven o' clock in Japan, it was six in the evening for them, whom resided in San Fransisco, all the way in the United States. 

"Excuse me." He blandly told his juniors, as soon as he saw the Caller ID. "Continue practicing for the time being. I want a perfect cover of Tomorrow by Together's 'Cat and Dog' from the five of you when I return."

The frightened younger students immediately bowed and heeded to his words. After all, the choreography may seem easy at first glance (AN: mainly because the members make it look like a piece of cake), but it is actually an extremely difficult song to learn.

Quickly hiding in an unused classroom, he called back. "What do you want?" He asked in English, annoyed. "It's work hours, and my lunch break doesn't start until one thirty in the afternoon. You better be straight-forward with what you're gonna say, because I don't have all the time in the world."

"Our dear son, we would like you to spend your New Year with us in California. It has been a few years since we last saw you in person, and Father and I miss you so much!" Spoke up Mrs. Kira in the same language. "Besides, it is a good opportunity for you to find a good university there, so that you can settle down in the States and learn how to take over the family business, instead of playing around--" 

"I'm not playing around." Interrupted Kanata, determined to speak up for himself. "This is my passion. I love music, and I'm naturally gifted at dance. Why not follow the path I want? Can I wait until after I graduate from Four Star?"  

However, he failed. "You cannot." Replied the father sharply. "Your mother are going to be occupied until the 30th. You will fly to Hillsborough on the same day, and we're going to spend the first day of the New Year as a family. Your half siblings are spending Christmas with Aunt Reina and her family, so you don't have to worry about them. I've already spoken to your headmaster and he agrees to let you take a one-month leave from school to rest."

"Fine!" sighed the boy. "I'll fulfil your wishes, but I'll come back in February for M4's upcoming tour and comeback. Deal?"

"Deal."

'M4's Kanata announces month-long hiatus'

The following day, all newspapers were buzzing about the dancer's sudden declaration. "I can't believe Asahi didn't tell me about this!" Spoke Mahiru, still shocked from the news. 

"What?" Asked a shocked Ako, holding her phone. "Is this all true?" She pointed at the article showing on the screen. Mahiru said nothing, but clicked on it. 

Four Star Academy has announced in a press conference featuring M4, that member Kira Kanata will be in hiatus until early February. He will be flying back home to spend the new year with his family in California, United States, whom he haven't seen for almost three years. Meanwhile, M4 will not hold any group activities during this period, instead concentrating on their solo debuts. 

In the same press conference, M4 also announced their upcoming tour in mid-February. Subaru said although the exact dates have not been confirmed among Four Star Academy, it will be an OT4 tour, and hopes fans to look forward to it.

What?! Then... I won't see you anymore... At least for a month or so. 
People change quickly... Will you-- wait Ako what are you thinking about?
I know I kinda like him, but as a friend, right? Yeah, we're besties, kind of.

"Asahi sent me the details of his flight. Come, Ako! You'll have to send him off!" Mahiru interrupted her. 

"Why?"
