Jay's POV
As the sun shone through the window I started to stir, I felt a dead weight on top of me. As I opened my eyes and looked down, I felt a smile slowly creep up on to my lips. My gaze was met with a peacefully sleeping Erin Lindsay. Quietly without disturbing Erin I reached over to her coffee table and picked up my phone to check the time, it was just after 06:30. I carefully placed my phone back down again and gently rose to me feet whilst cautiously carrying Erin in my arms. I had been to Erin's apartment many times before and therefore I knew my way around well, I nudged her bedroom door open just enough for me to get through and I placed Erin down on her bed. Just as I was turning to leave her room I felt her hand tugging at my wrist, causing me to stop. "Jay... Please stay" Erin mumbled in her sleep deprived state. " I'm not leaving" I replied "I'm just going to the kitchen to make breakfast.". I felt her tug at my wrist once more and she sleepily opened her eyes, "No please... Stay here with me?" I nodded in return and climbed into bed with her. I was only in the bed no more than five seconds and she was already curled up next to me with her head resting on my chest, and we just lay there not asleep but not fully awake either.Erin's POV
I didn't want Jay to leave, somehow him being here seemed to comfort me and he made me feel safe. As I lay in my bed, with Jay by my side tracing circle patterns on my arm I knew I could get used to this. I knew that the feelings I had been trying to suppress for so long were finally surfacing and their was nothing I could do about it. I was in love with Jay Halstead and I have been for a while. As I started to waken up I turned onto my side so I was looking up a Jay. I felt a massive grin creep onto my face as he looked so peaceful and handsome, defiantly handsome. "You know Lindsay, it's rude to stare." Jay laughed without
even opening his eyes. "Good morning to you too" I replied with a mocking tone. He just laughed and then casually opened his eyes to still find me staring "Breakfast?" He asked and I great fully nodded. I carefully watched Jay get out of my bed and make his way across my room as he headed in the direction of the door, just before he exited he turned and flashed me one of his signature smiles, "Merry Christmas, Erin" was all he said before he left and headed for my kitchen.Jay's POV
I made my way round Erin's kitchen gathering everything I needed to make pancakes for breakfast. As I was cooking the last couple I heard footsteps coming from the hall behind me and I knew it was Erin. I quickly took the last couple of pancakes out of the pan and served them onto a plate. Erin hopped up onto a bar stool "Merry Christmas, Jay" was all she said as she slid a fairly large box wrapped in christmas paper and ribbon along the table to me. " Can I open it just now?" I asked. "Yeah." she replied whilst munching on her warm pancakes. I unwrapped the present like a five year old and there was paper flying everywhere, until I could see what was written on the box. " I thought this would be greatly appreciated, as now you can drive whenever you want." Erin said whilst choking back a laugh. "A remote control car! Your hysterical, Lindsay" I smirk at her whilst she is having a laughing fit. I quickly get off of my bar stool a head for my jacket that I was wearing from last night. I pull out a small box from the pocket and head back to the kitchen and give Erin the box. " Can I?" She asks impatiently, I nod and it takes her two seconds to get into the box.Erin's POV
Once I had removed all the wrapping paper from Jay's gift, it revealed a jewellery box underneath. I slowly opened the box to see a necklace with a small crescent shaped moon charm. I feel my eyes start to water as I look at the necklace and back to Jay, who has a massive smile on his face due to my reaction, but I don't care this has to be one of the most thoughtful gifts anyone has ever gave to me. Before I can stop it a single tear escapes and runs down my face but before I can wipe it away so that Jay doesn't notice, he is already there wiping it away with his thumb. " What's wrong, Erin, don't you like it?" Jay asks. I shake my head in return "No Jay, it's... it's perfect, thank you so much." I say as I get off of my bar stool and hug Jay. the hug lasted longer than it should of but I didn't care and I don't think Jay minded much either. As we separated from the hug I turned round and asked Jay if he would put my necklace on for me. As I moved my hair out of the way I could feel Jay's fingers brush against my skin, as he clasped the necklace, I felt myself shiver at his touch and I knew now was the time to tell him, it was now or never. Once again I turned around but this time it was to face Jay, as our eyes met we were both silent just gazing into each other's eyes, and before I knew what I was doing I had closed the space between us and I placed I gentle kiss onto his lips. When I reluctantly pulled back Jay was just staring at me and I knew I had made a mistake, he didn't feel the way I did, he didn't love me. "I'm sorry Jay... I" but I was cut off by his lips passionately crashing against mine. Our lips seemed to fit perfectly together and they moved in sync. As we broke apart desperately needing oxygen his hand cupped my face, "You don't know how long I have been wanting to do that." He said with a sheepish grin on his face. "Jay I love you, I want...need you." I replied before crashing my lips to his once more. As he pulled his face back slightly but just enough so that our lips were still touching "I love you too, Erin Lindsay." he whispered against my lips.
