Jay's POV
It has been a long couple of months since the wedding, work has been pretty full on with the last couple of cases and as for house hunting with Erin, well that's just something within its self. No where seems to be what we are looking for either that or I like somewhere she doesn't or vice versa. Trying to find places in the city yet not to close to all the hustle and bustle, and somewhere that's not too small but big enough for us to possibly start a family and grow old in, I never imagined it being this difficult to find a place for us to stay.

Erin's POV
House hunting seems to be endless these days, I don't know how many viewings Jay and I have been on now, sometimes I think we would be better just staying here in my apartment I mean Jay is here most of the time any.... Just as I was thinking the door went "Hey gorgeous" he said with a smirk, "haven't seen you in a while." Jay kissed me on the head and walked in to my apartment. I shut the door behind me and ran up behind Jay and jumped onto his back. "Hi Halstead." I whispered in his ear. "Erin" he said with a judgemental tone " what have I told you about talking to yourself". He said with a small chuckle. "Wow your banter is just on fire today mr" I said as I slightly draped my head around Jays shoulder.

Jay's POV
Lists night was the best night Erin and I have had in a while, things seemed to have reverted to the way they were before, simple, easy and stress free. I knew doing this house hunting thing alone was not going to work for us so I know what I have to do today. As Erin and I got to work, we walked in to the bull pen and no one was there, however Voight was in his office. I let Erin go on ahead to her locker and told her I would be there in a minute. I had never been so nervous in my life as I am now, that includes the time I ask Voight for his blessing to our marriage. I approached hi door and knocked, Vogt looked up "Halstead, come on in." I walked in and shut the door behind me. "What can I do for you?" Voight questioned as I sat down in front of him. "Sir, it's eh...more of a...." Voight cut me off "Just spit it out Halstead". "It's more like what you can do for us. You see as you know Erin and I have been house hunting but it's been pretty unsuccessful...and well I was just wondering if.." Once again Voight didn't let me finish, "say no more Jay, I will sort it, oh and loose the Sir, it's Hank when it comes to family matters." DID THAT JUST HAPPEN! Hank openly called me family, Erin is right, he's not as bad as he seems.

Erin's POV
As I was just finishing at my locker Jay came in, "what took you so long?" I asked as I shut my locker door. "Aww did you miss me??" Jay mocked. I smirked at him, "Nah just wasn't sure if Voight had beaten you up." I replied. "Funny you should mention Voight" Jay said looking mildly confused whilst changing the subject. "I was just talking to him and he called me family." "Damn!" I exclaimed, "and I missed it." Jay laughed as he gently brushed past me to his locker, making sure our hands touched as he did so. "What were you talking to Hank about?" I asked, "Oh nothing just family stuff" Jay replied, I stuck my tongue out and walked back to the bull pen, I heard Jay chuckle from behind me.

Jay's POV
Today was the first day in a while where not a lot happened at work. It was mostly spent catching up on the last couple weeks worth of paperwork, and some good old fashioned office olympics. As we were getting ready to leave for the night, Hank called Erin and I into his office. We sat down expecting the worst but instead it was something great. "You two, my place, 8pm. Chicken okay for dinner?" Hank asked, or should I say stated. Erin and I looked at each other and simultaneously replied, "yeah sounds good". "Okay great see you then" Hank replied, and with that we left to head home.

Erin's POV
It was just before eight when we arrived at Hank's for dinner, I didn't want to be late. We went into Hank's, and surprisingly dinner went rather smoothly, not a bit of bickering from either one of the most important people in my life. As we finished off with a beer, Jay and I were sitting in Hank's living room, when Hank walked in with a set of keys that he placed on the table. Jay and I looked at each other and then to Hank who had a massive grin on his face. "These are for you kiddo." He said looking at me. "At the wedding I never had a chance to give you your present and work has just be so hectic that I totally forgot. It wasn't until Jay and I were speaking today that I remembered. Do the pair of you remember that bust we were on once, and the kid involved was from that nice neighbourhood across the road from the park?" Jay and I looked at each other and nodded, " well the house that was for sale, the old small looking house, yet inside was rather spacious and had the grand oak stair case, well I bought it. I knew one day, numpty over here would pluck up the courage to ask to marry you, and I knew that this was the perfect gift." By this point the tears are streaming down my face and Jay is so shocked. "Congratulations Mr & Mrs Halstead, I hope you have many happy memories in this house." By this point it was too much, I leaped out my seat and hugged Hank, "thank you so much Hank this is honestly too much!" " Erin you deserve a good happy life and Jay can give you that, this is just to help you both start that life together." I hugged Hank tightly before letting go, and Jay shook Hank's hand and they shared a few words. I don't know what I would do without these two amazing men in my life.
