Erin's POV
I woke in unfamiliar surroundings, with a shallow beeping beside me, and tubes sprouting out my body in all directions. The pain in my ride side was so uncomfortable, yet every time I wriggled, in what felt like a adult sized cot, the pain didn't subside, it got worse. Lying still was definitely my best option. With a quick glance around the room I saw another bed. One which had been used, and had blood stains on the sheet, yet no one was in it. Where the doctors notes should be, there was a name written just above. I scrunched my eyes up, trying to make any sense of what it said. Then it hit me. The letters were in an order I knew, an order I loved, an order o don't think I could live without. Jay Halstead. From that point onwards, the pain in my side had disappeared, and Jay was my main focus. As I tried to sit up in my bed, the beeping of the machine next to me, increased greatly. It was loud and irritating . All of a sudden the door to the room swung open and the doctor walked in. Will Halstead, I knew I could answers from Will, especially answers concerning Jay. Will walked over with a smug smile on his face, whilst subtlety shaking his head, "You two are a perfect match." Was all he said before taking the tubes off of me and disabling the beeping. "What.....you" I tried to say, but my throat was too dry to talk, so Will hand me a cup of water allowing me to take a few sips. "What are you talking about?" I questioned, this time being able to finish my sentence thoroughly. Will chuckled, "You and Jay, he was only in that bed half an hour, before he got up, you took slightly longer, due to you injuries, however the pair of you both tried to get out before you are ready." Will laughed and head for the door. Before he managed to escape I quickly spoke, "Where is.." I didn't even get to finish before Will spoke, " I'll send him in." Was all he said before he walked out the door.

Jay's POV
I was sitting outside Erin's room when Will came out, I stood up to ask how she was, but he knew what was coming, "She's awake, you can go see her if you like, don't know if she will still be there though." Will laughed to himself and sauntered off down the corridor. All of a sudden I was worried, wouldn't Erin be there?? I quickly pushed open the door, with my good arm and riches into the room. There she was, I sighed with relief and walked over to her bed. "What's wrong with you, you look like you've seen a ghost?" Erin questioned whilst simultaneously, out stretching her arm to put her hand on mine. "I'm fine, just Will said you might not be here, and I got confused but he just walked off." Erin started to laugh however it made her side worse so it kind of came out like, "ahh..oh oh oh" "What you laughing at?" I said with a smile on my face, it was nice to see Erin smiling, they way it made her dimples show, and the glow that radiated off her face, I couldn't help but smile in return. "Your brother, he only told you that cause I tried to get out of this...to find you. He said we are perfect for each other. You did the same." The smile on Erin's face grew even bigger. I leant down and kissed her head and whispered, "You're perfect for me."

Erin's POV
Our moment was interrupted, by the other man in my life, Voight. He walked in and smiled at us both. "Hey kiddo. How you doing?" He asked me. "Not bad. The pain in my side is a pain in the ass, but I can deal with it." He looked at my side and then back to me, " Yeah I saw Will on my way in, he said you rib punctured your lung, but they fixed you lung with surgery and now we just have to wait for your rib to repair itself." I could see Jay nodding out the corner of my eye, and nodded to Hank. Hank gave a final nod, before turning to look at Jay, "Halstead, how's the arm?" He asked. "It's fine, sarg." Jay replied. "Right well I guess I will leave you two to it, oh but before I go, congratulations to both of you." Hank smiled and headed for the door, "Halstead? Take care of our girl, won't you?" There was pause, and a smile crept up into Jay's face, "Always." Was all he said before Hank turned and left. I turned to look at Jay, "what the gel was that about?" I asked Jay with a puzzled look on my face. "Hank knows." Was all he said, "yeah, Jay, I'm gonna need more" I said whilst flicking his finger, he laughed and said, "He knows about the engagement." "Who told him, Jay? No one knows yet!" I said beginning to get flustered. "Hey." Jay said whilst placing his hand on the sonde of my face to comfort me, "Erin I couldn't just take the most precious thing away from him without asking." Jay said with a smile on his face. "You asked Hank for permission?" I asked shocked. Jay nodded, "I was given every name under the sun, for even suggesting such a thing, but I took it, all of it, if it meant I could have you at the end of it." I couldn't control the massive smile that was on my face, or the tears streaming down my cheeks, but I didn't care. "I love you, Jay Halstead." Jay smiled and kissed my hand, "I Love you too, Erin Lindsay." We shared a few quiet minutes together, before Jay went to get Will to sign my discharge papers.
