Everyone was meeting at Molly's after shift for a few drinks. Today's case had been tough, mainly as we haven't caught the perp yet and that picks his victims depending on their hair colour and build, Erin was a typical match.
Erin's POV
I walked in a packed Molly's alone. Jay was parking the car, yes I let him drive, he's damn special cause I usually don't let anyone drive, but then I guess he's not just anyone. Not really wanting to be here I made my way over to the unit. They were all perched round our usual table, no one really talking. Today was most certainly a tough one. Finding car upon car of which in the trunk contained different women who all looked similar. That's what he did, he stalked their cars, would follow them for weeks, then one day it was the end. No one really wanted to talk about today, no one really wanted to be here either, however we did all say one drink. As I sat down at the table I record a couple of nods and a squeeze of the shoulder from Hank, then Al piped up, "Where's Jay?" "He's just parking the car, won't be long." I replied. That seemed to brighten everyone's faces, the idea of ME Erin Lindsay letting someone drive my car. So the mocking began, I didn't really mind though, it seemed to brighten everyone up a bit.
Jay's POV
I finally managed to find a space, it was a few blocks away and despite the heavy rain today, the walk to Molly's will do me good, let me clear my head. As I unbuckled my seatbelt I felt a presence beside me, at first I didn't think anything of it, could have been someone walking by, then before I knew it they yanked the door open and shoved a cloth under my nose. I heard them mumble "does this look like a fucking woman to you?" before everything went black.
Erin's POV
It had been almost half an hour since I had last seen Jay, and I know Molly's was busy but surely he would have found a space by now. Hank noticed I was anxious, "What's up kiddo?" He asked my with a concerned look on his face. "Well....It's just I didn't think I would take Jay this long to find a space, I don't know Hank I just don't have a good feeling about this." I stated not really sure how to explain myself. Hank nodded and faced the table, "Jays been gone a while, and he's parking ERIN'S car, let's all go and look for him." The units eyes seemed to open wide like they had clicked onto something that I hadn't, then it hit me. Jay was driving MY car, I'M a typical match to this lunatics victims. Shit.
Jay's POV
As I was starting to come to, I wasn't entirely sure where I was. From where I was sitting I could see a small window to my left and a large door straight ahead of me. It's got to be a warehouse of some sort. Drugs, the smell was recognisable, well at least for a cop anyway. The window didn't give much light, so picking up the minor details, that could help get me out of here, was difficult. However when I realised I wasn't tied to anything, I was really confused. Who kidnaps a cop and then doesn't tie them down and allows them to wander about in a room where next door they are making, by the smell of it, drugs. Before I knew it the door in front of me opened a tall, well built man walked in. He started talking to me what I assumed was questions, but really I had no idea. Obviously not giving him a reply was not what he wanted. I was pushed to the floor, the punches coming left, right and centre. It was with a final blow that everything went dark again, and my last thought was Erin and how glad I was that she was not in the car.
Erin's POV
We searched every street for my car till we found it. Drivers door was left open and Jays phone sitting on the seat. I could feel myself filling up, but I knew I had to be strong, crying wouldn't bring Jay back, is out there looking for him would! We all headed back to the district where mouse already was. He had pulled the surveillance from the surrounding cameras, and fortunately managed to get a plate on a suspicious looking van across the street that Jay had been dragged towards. Every member of the unit suited up and headed to the location mouse had given us. As we arrived the van from the surveillance footage was sitting out front. On Hank's count we stormed the building. I searched through the rooms that were in the adjoining corridor to the main part of the warehouse. I hadn't found Jay so far and I only had one room left. As I reached the door o saw it was padlocked so I peered though the small peep whole, and I saw him, lying on the floor covered in blood. Was I too late?
