Jay's POV
As I woke the next morning I was pinned to the bed by a heavy, deadweight body on top of me, and I couldn't help but smile. Without opening my eyes I knew who it was automatically. I could smell her perfume lingering from the night before her soft curls, draped over my arm which was instinctively wrapped around her back. As I unconsciously started drawing patterns on her back I could feel her starting to stir in my arms. I opened my eyes just so I could see where she was lying and I re-positioned myself so I was on my side facing Erin, instead of on my back. I gently kissed the top of her head and as I did so I could here her groan in her sleep deprived state. As she had been sleeping at the hospital with Voight, because she was stubborn as hell and wouldn't come home, she hadn't gotten a lot of sleep and last night was most rest she had had in a week. As I moved her hair out of her face she moaned and opened them to find mine gazing back. "A wise man once told me that "staring is rude" halsted" Erin chuckled, "so you think I'm wise then?" I questioned whilst choking back a laugh. "That was not the moral of th-........" Erin whined but I quickly cut her off with a kiss, which she did not complain about, unlike most things. As I pulled back after getting lost in her soft, plump lips, my hand was gently stroking her cheek, "Breakfast?" I asked, Erin have a nod in reply so I gave her one last peck on the lips and left to make breakfast.
Erin's POV
This morning I woke up in Jay's arms and nothing more had ever felt like home. As I got out of bed and wandered into my bathroom I knew this is what I wanted everyday, for the rest of my life, waking up next to Jay and spending the day with him. Luckily today was a Saturday, the one day we don't work and I wanted to do something with Jay. So I quickly got my self dressed and headed to the kitchen. By the time I got there Jay had served breakfast and was pouring coffee for us both. As I perched on my stool munching away on the delicious breakfast that Jay had prepared, it didn't take me long to break the comfortable silence between us, "Since it's our day off, do you want to do something today, just me and you?" I suggested. Jay snapped his head up from his breakfast and held a boyish grin on his face. "Really?" He questioned, "I thought you would of wanted to visit Voight?" I smiled in return and replied, "I have the nurses under strict rules to phone me if he try's to leave, so I'm sure I could spare a couple of hours for you" Jay grinned and shook his head, " like that is it lindsay?" He questioned, "Well in that case I am busy" he stuck out his tongue and continued eating. I laughed at his actions and said, " well what if we do something you want to do." He looked up, "I suppose I could cancel my plans." We both shared a laugh and finished our breakfast.
Jay's POV
Erin said that we would do whatever I wanted to day today, but really all I wanted to do was make her happy so I decided I would take her to the pier, where we could just be ourselves and spend time together. When we arrived it was nearly lunch time so I treated Erin to a hotdog, but she raised her eyebrow in a "are you kidding me" kind of manner so I had to explain my master plan. "I decided that for the day I would to act like we were when we younger and care free, I want to get to know Erin Lindsay's inner child." Erin just looked at me and laughed, "You're mad, you know that right?" She questioned, "yes but please just humor me?" I begged and she siged, "Fine, Erin Lindsay's inner child was scared of heights." She stated. "Well let's conquer that fear then." I said, Erin just looked at me so I grabbed her hand and pulled her along the pier beside me. I crashed Erin all the way along the pier until we had reached our destination. The end of the Ferris wheel que. As I turned to face Erin I could see the colour and happiness quickly drain from her face, "Jay no we are not doing this." She protested. "Erin look at me, I am going to be here with you every step of the way and I will make sure nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing happens to you." I pleaded, "You promise, Halstead, caste if anything happens to me Voight will find you and he will kill you." She stated, in a kind of serious yet mocking manner. With out even realising it Erin and I were at the from of the que. " You ready?" I asked, "Read as I will ever be." Replied Erin. As we approached the slightly swaying Ferris wheel pod I gave Erin's hand a gentle, yet reassuring squeeze. Once we were in and ready to go we started moving and I felt Erin automatically slide over and hug my arm. So I moved it allowing her press right against my side. We started slowing as we reached the top and eventually we stopped. The view was amazing and ever so slightly I could feel Erin start to relax. "The view is amazing Jay." Erin said, " I knew you would like it up here." I said whilst giving her a reassuring kiss on the head. We started to move again and before we knew it we had reached the bottom and it was time to get off. As we walked back along the pier Erin locked hands with me, "Thank You." Was all she said, "For what?" I asked, "For helping me conquer my fear of heights and being there every step of the way, but most of all thank you for a great day out."
